This beer poured out as a clear looking golden yellow color with a foamy white head on top. The smell of the beer was earthy but not overly grassy which I liked. The taste of the beer had a good strong sharp flavor to it with a good amount of grain in the beginning, and finishing with a nice sharp crisp bitter finish. The mouthfeel was clean and light, tingly carbonation with a dry finish. Overall it's not a bad German Lager.

11.2oz bottle poured into a pint glass.

Pours a clear gold with a thick white head which slowly settles into decent lacing on the top of the beer and sides of the glass.

Smells is slightly skunky at first thanks to the green bottle but this soon gives way to bready malt along with a grassy scent from the hops.

The flavor is sweet malt along with grassy flavor from the hops. A moderate bitterness pervades throughout lingering after the other flavors have faded. There is some lingering sweetness.

Overall this is an above average beer. The only downsides are the moderate skunkiness and it is just a tad sweet. Otherwise excellent.

Appearance - Extremely clear light yellow. The froth starts off around 3 fingers deep with very fine bubbles, slowly dissipating to a light lacing on top of the beer.

Aroma - A very slight grass hop aroma with a lager grain nose coming through. A slight herb aroma is there too. There are some cereal notes that come through, but overall the aroma isn't very strong.

Taste - Quite a sweet initial taste with some hop bitterness coming through. Slight honey notes coming through to a bread-like flavour. The hop bitterness doesn't last long as the finish is quite dry, almost tart. The hop taste that is there is piney and grassy. That initial sweet.

Mouthfeel - meium body and refreshing. Moderate carbonation.

Overall - a definite summer session beer.

The colour is pale yellow (5 EBC), the liquid is clear. The four finger head is white and compact; it sinks slowly leaving lots o thick lacing.

The smell is malty. Some cereals and a clean bitter note. Hints of honey and herbs. It is as clean as it is supposed to be.

The small is mild, balanced and well-rounded. Pilsener malt, hints of minerals and honey. Clean bitter notes with touches of fresh-cut grass, smooth herbs and a hint of corn. The aftertaste is hoppy and a little dense with a solid malty sweetness, herbal hops and a mild bitterness. The finish is sweet with some cereals.

The carbonation is mild to medium, the bubbles medium sized. The liquid is light.

I had expected an even smoother and balanced brew, like the Helles I had in Bamberg. This one is a bit too sweet.

Clear yellow and gold pour, nice 2" deep pristine white head. Somewhat skunky aroma, more helles and lagers should be skunky.

Taste, noble hop presence? Heavy carbonation, decent hopping, mild lager aftereffects on the mouthfeel. Mild sweetness. Relative dry finish, you can pull some lemon out of it if you really look hard. Overall, a decent representative of the style. Certainly fits summertime more than it does winter.

A little pricey for the lack of ingredients, I guess the time it takes to make/cellar/lager a lager weighs into it, as well as the transportation issues, but still. . .

A: Beautiful golden color with white head leaving a great amount of lacing on the walls of a 1L HB dimpled mug in Munich.
S: Grainy aroms with a tiny hint of citrus.
T: Crisp grain flavor with slight citrus flavor. Slight hop presence with bitter end.
M: Light to medium bodied beer with moderate carbonation.
O: Extremely enjoyable beer at its original home, making it that much better. would definitely have again.

Pours clear yellow with white decent sized head. Lots of carbonation. Good lacing down the sides on the way down.

Smells of bitter hops and bready malts.

This is a great session beer. Taste is mellow but you've still got plenty of flavors - slightly bitter hops complimented by bready malts. Mouthfeel is slightly watery but smooth and drinkable.

A very good beer for the style.
