Peachy red-brown with a dense, but thin, layer of foam--beige, in color.
Nice malty nose with minerally earthy notes. Straight German maibock aromas with no frills. Semi-fruity with pomme and stone fruit wafts.
Deliciously tangy strong bock. Fruity peach, apple, raisin, and grape. Lightly roasted grains pushing through creamy yeast notes. Faint clove/bubble gum notes whoosh away in sweet finishing booze.
Bigger-bodied. Creamy and lightly sizzling with tight effervescence. Mellow booze. A dull strength that I like.
Tasty and satisfying. I'd say, stop overlooking this beer.

Purchased two individual bottles 1.69 each.
First time tasting this beer. Thicker than Hofbraü Original, but still very good. Definitely more hops and a more "fully bodied" taste. I don't know if it's better than Original, but still a very good beer and one I would buy again.

Hofbräu Maibock (Urbock) 11.2 oz green bottle $1.69(OH)
11.2 oz green bottle poured into a stemless white wine glass. No freshness date. Bottling codes are on back label at bottom.
Pours a clear amber color. Two fingers of thick peach-white head, that lasts a good time. Gives way to nice spiderweb like lacing.
The aroma is nice. A malted backbone with noble hop smells. Smells like an original hofbrau but stronger, more malty, and zero skunk. Those noble hops smell beautiful.
Taste follows the nose. A nice malty character, an amazing hit of noble hops, finishes crisp and dry like a noble hop brew should. Hints of apples or grapes towards the middle and end. The 7.2 ABV is Uber well hidden. Only taste a tad stronger than original Hofbrau.
Mouth feel is great. Absolutely no complaints. Perfect carbonation. Crisp and clean from start to finish. Dry like a noble hop brew should be. A noble hop coppery feel clings nicely to your palate.
Overall. Better and stronger than original Hofbrau. The noble Hops are stronger but so are the malts. But its perfectly balanced. Has a nice red/amber color. Head retention is great. Lacing is good. Smell and taste are excellent. I would buy this any day. Where has it been hiding? Better than the original.
