a. Served on tap into a 22 oz. glass. Head dissipated to nothing, no lace. Cloudy yellow in appearance.

S. Wheat and a bit of malt.

T. A good malt body supported with a bit of fruity yeast. The wheat is present as well. Slight metallic twang. Noble hops in the distance.

M. On the lighter side of medium bodied and sightly syrupy.

D. A fairly drinkable hefe. Not the best I've had, but true to the style and solid. A little more banana/clove appeal and I'd be hooked.

* Tried this brew again April 18,2009
Metallic twang is gone, much more enjoyable.

Pours a fairly clear golden with a frothy ivory head.

Aroma is heavily banana, clove, and orange peel, with a bit of yeast funk. Flavor reveals a good amount of wheat, with lightly bready malt and citrus underpinnings. The clove is a nice accent. Not as overpowering as some. Citrus is in good balance.

The colour is dark yellow (15 EBC), the liquid is a bit cloudy. The three finger head is compact and off-white, it leaves lots of lacing.

The smell is malty and sweet-sour with distinct phenolic and spicy flavours. Cloves, green bananas, caramel, orange peels, apricots and some wheat dough. Sophisticated but a bit dense.

The taste is fruity and sweet with very little bitterness. If it hadn’t been for the sourness from the wheat and yeast, this would have been a very thick and sticky brew. Now, there are notes of spices (allspice, white pepper, cloves, nutmeg) and fresh French loaf. In fact, the tart notes are stronger than in most Bavarian Hefeweiss-beers. Medium to full body. The aftertaste got some perfumed notes, delicate spices and hints of cedar wood. Tart fruity flavours of green bananas and green grapes. The finish is fresh with more green fruits.

The carbonation is strong, the small bubbles are fresh and long-lived in the mouth. The liquid is semi-smooth and a bit sticky.

A refreshing and delicate wheat beer with more tartness than in most.

Pours a thin head on a clear straw colored body.
The aroma is banana and grains. A bit faint though.
The taste is mildly sweet fruit with an underlying grain flavor.
The texture is smooth and soft with a little fizz, but moderate carbonation overall.
It's a good weisse beer.
