ST: 11.2oz poured into a Hefe glass.

A: Cloudy golden-orange with a thick white, fluffy head with rapid carbonation bubbles.

S: Banana, clove, citrus, soda bread.

T: Bite of sweet wheat, orange, banana, a zap of spice and the zing of carbonation.

M: A bit light, though creamy.

O: The first sip through the thick head is very enjoyable, and the creamy mouth fitting finish with a hint of clove is equally nice. There was a metal, medicinal tinge that hurt the overall flavor throughout, though that taste might be the fault of this individual bottle. For the price, it is one of the better Hefes to buy from Germany.

12 oz green bottle

Hofbrau Hefeweizen poured a slightly cloudy gold color producing a soft white head made of tiny bubbles. The nose was on the light side, of mild clove and very mild banana. Thankfully the flavor is stronger than the nose. The taste is dominated by banana, and wheat bread with a touch of clove in the background. The mouth feel is crisp, smooth, with a light-medium body and a little sticky finish.

Hofbrau Hefeweizen is a refreshing Hefeweizen that drinks easy and not too filling. Maybe, a little to light when compared to the better Hefeweizens.

Classic caramel hefeweizen appearance. Skunky beer aroma clashing with characteristic banana smell. Worth mentioning the bottle is green not brown and so that might have something to do with the aroma. Skunkiness comes through mildly, you can notice a hint of the alcohol, and slight bitterness. Moderately carbonated with great drinkability.
