A: (3/3) Clear golden with medium carbonation -- thin head, almost sodalike
S: (9/12) Smells like sparkling cider with a touch of woody sourness
T: (16/20) Subtle flavor--very understated compared to stronger sours I’ve had
M: (5/5) Very bubbly and medium dryness on finish
O: (7/10) Was really expecting something stronger, like the Tilquin or some Lambics I’ve had

A - Orange, mostly translucent but not transparent, with white head that forms up moderately high, reduces quickly, but remains as a thin layer over the top, climbing up the edge and leaving some lacing.

S - When the bottle says spontaneous fermenting, this is the nose you'd expect. A strong sour spike, with floral and lemon notes, combining with horse blanket and a bit of blue cheese lactic elements.

T - Following the nose, with a lemon fruit line combining with the lactic hit. There is wood here, and more barnyard notes, all of which fall to a slow build of clean sourness that lingers.

M - This is a highly acidic brew, but not a gut bomb like some of the lambics I've tried. Mild pucker means it is best enjoyed with small swallows over large swallows.

O - The fruit here is bright citric, lemons and such. This is a rock solid example of the gueuze, a blended lambic that focuses on the funk and sour elements that sometimes are backgrounded in the more friendly standard lambics. An approachable, relatively balanced example.
