From a 375 ml bottle to a snifter.

A: pours a deep red with a thin head that appears pink in color. The head breaks almost as soon as it appeared.

S: smells of ripening raspberries and other berries. Some funk as well.

T: super-tart raspberries overwhelm the palate. Not much else can get through.

M: medium body and medium/high carbonation. Sour finish is actually quite nice.

O: I found the tartness of this beer to be refreshing at first, but it became a little overwhelming toward the end. I am not sure I'd have this again.

A - Pours a dark, ruby red with a tall fizzy head of pink foam. Drops quickly.

S - Sweet fruitiness. Raspberries of course, a bare hint of funk. Supposedly this contains cherries as well, but I can't really tell the difference from just raspberries.

T - A little bit sweet, a little bit tart, a hint of bitterness in the back end. Mostly very clean. Fruit flavour is there as well as a lingering aftertaste that's bitter and fruity (like orange rind, but not orangey).

M - Fizzy, light and refreshing. I dare say a bit on the watery side.

O - Overall, I find this a little weak. Accessible, but not exactly bursting with favour.

375ml bottle at the Malt House in Madison, WI. Poured into a Duvel tulip today, 1/27/2014.

App- Dark reddish brown body, a bit of white head, minimal retention, not much lacing

Smell- Funky, sweet raspberry, cane sugar, oak. Smells overly fruit but the funk adds a bit to the complexity.

Taste- Sweet raspberries, rotten oak, funk, horseblanket. Solid.

Mouthfeel- Medium bodied, a bit thick and custardy. OK carbonation. Drinkable.

Overall- Not the best Framboise, certainly easy to find and not expensive to boot. A decent example of the style, but just a bit above average. Beats Lindeman's offering for sure.
