2006 vintage, 33 cL, purchased in Brussels last summer for 4.95E - what a deal. Stored horizontally at 55* in wine cellar and opened immediately after removing from cellar (sediment in suspension).
Contents under pressure! High carbonation, strong head retention.
Smells like the most purest poop from a prized countryside horse, a really pampered all-natural horse...leather, earth, caves and cobwebs. Cork, Champagne, funky French cheese, sour green apples. I salivate from smelling it.
Wow. What a wave flavors. Sublime lingering presence. Tart orange marmalade, wheat.
It doesn't get much drier than this. Acidity seems to have faded over the years, making the flavours more subtle and graceful.
