Bottle # 7, C&C 330 poured into two la fin du monde tulips. Bottled shared with brewfeller // reviewed from notes nice little pop from the cork.
A orange with a hint of amber, massive white head the fills up my cup (a gueuze with brett?) This head hangs on for quite a while 3.5
S before its even poured it smells of sourness and gives off the traditional, acidic, lemony smell of a Gueuze. But, like the head, their is a brett characteristic in this beer. Funk, accompanied with oak, chardonnay, peppercorn, pears and leather.
T This is delicious but not as sour as I was expecting from the smell. So much going on here. the smells are lending to the flavor but there is a slight sweetness to this i cant put my finger on. (unblended lambic possibly?)
M this is very creamy and does not have the traditional dry thin mouth feel most gueuzes have. This coats the mouth nicely leaving behind the flavors as a reminder of its goodness.
O This is really good and I would definitely drink it again. Its not as sour as many of the gueuzes ive had but this is far more complex. my guess is the Tilquin Gueuze, Brewfeller's guess- yum!
After removing the label and picking my jaw up off the floor I dive back in to my glass. 2007 Boon Oude Geuze Mariage Parfait. Your killing me, Alewatcher! Great beer!!!
