Into a chalice, pours a darker-than-straw golden with hardly any head to speak of. Nothing groundbreaking here.
Nose is a big improvement with all those great funky horseblanket/Camembert aromas I love in a gueuze.
Big rush of quinine and bitter lime peel dominate until being supplanted by a hint of sherry vinegar. Aftertaste is a slightly metallic slant on tarragon. Exactly why I love this style.
Somewhat listless although the appearance warned me of this. Definitely a sipper; the person I went out with took a sip and quipped, "I'd need to pair this with food." I feel exactly the opposite, as this shares everything in common with great Italian aperitifs. It whets your appetite, makes your stomach rumbles and gets your taste buds salivating. Enjoyed at the Long Room.

Clear golden body with a creamy white head that sticks around.
Aroma is musty, leafy, and a slight cheese. More funk than fruit.
This seems to rely more on the funk. Not much tartness going on. Wood and musty funkiness. Green grape and citric fruit.
Ample prickly carbonation but not like Vat 44. The body is almost medium.
Definitely the best Boon geuze I've had.

375 mL bottle, served in a tulip.
A- Pours with a quarter inch of whitish head that goes settles to a cap within five minutes. The body is a very murky yellow-orange.
S- The nose is lightly funky and tart.
T- Very earthy character, but sour and crisp as well. Not overbearingly tart. A light oakiness balances things out.
M- Medium body and bubbly, crisp carbonation.
O- Not my go-to style by any means, but this was a tasty brew to mix things up.
