Poured into a Leffe footed chalice this beer is plum reddish purple in color with a soft pillow of off-white head at the top.

The smell is of deep malt and wild yeast. There is an earthy overtone that speaks to the spontaneous fermentation.

The taste is sour wild cherries, dry fruit, sweet malt, and more sourness. This is a very strong in flavor wild ale - very thirst quenching.

Mouthfeel is spot on - light in body, creamy and velvety head, and a touch of light viscosity (probably from fruit dexitrins).

Drinkablity is amazing. I would drink 10 of these on a hot day or with friends at a BBQ. I've thoroughly enjoyed my bottle and can see the desire to drink more but at 8.99 a bottle (375 mL) I will not be going for my second tonight.

A classic Belgian fruit beer whose taste and aroma are simply saturated with the tart tang of Cherries. A sipping beer rather than a session beer, it needs to be served in a goblet or wine glass to appreciate it's full flavour. A good dessert beer for after a full meal.

P- Thanks to my new buddy Donn in Germany for this brew

A- dark red like that of forzen cherries. No head and no lacing.

S- sour cherry, somewhat like cold cherry pie. Some faint malt tones come through but not much.

F- wow, sour cherry packs a punch in this brew. That is all i taste. That is true to lambic though.

M- sourness and creamy cherry.

O- I have never been a big lambic fan and this doesnt convince me. However, the style seems on par though.

Ok, here we go with another Kriek.

vigorous pour produces a few finger of pink foam that disappears immediately into nothing. Body is a beautiful ruby. not much carbonation visible.

smells of sour cherries, some funk but maybe some horse blanket

taste is sour but not overly sour, with some cherry flavor and a hint of sweetness.

fine tickling carbonation, really spritzy. very light, but not watery.

A refreshing kriek for the summer months, not too sour and definitely not sweet, a good example for the Oude Kriek style. However, I would love to have a stronger cherry flavor and hint of more sweetness for the balance
.
