Leffe Blonde is a pleasant and complex beer but this is nothing of the sort.
Appearance: promising. Pours with a thick head and robust, brown body. Lacing is excellent. Makes you want to drink the beer.
Smell: fruity with a dry, wine-like aroma. However, the smell is the calm before the nasty, bitter storm.
Taste is awful. A thick and musty wine flavour with hints of fruit. There is no "sweet caramel" to speak of (as the label suggests). The dry, bitter finish and high carbonation accentuate an unpleasant aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: also terrible. The head on this beer is too thick and carbonated and therefore tough to get through. The aftertaste is painfully dry. This beer can best be described as bitter and bloated.
Drinkability: the review says it all.
