Poured into a Leffe chalice, deep ruby/mahogany colour with a one-finger head. A few bubbles, but not many, and the head died back pretty quickly to a thin film, leaving no lacing on the glass to speak of. The colour and clarity are fantastic at any rate.
Smells good. Caramel, roasted malts and dark fruit.
Taste is very nice. It's good beer, no question. The caramel, roastiness and fruits are all there,
Mouthfeel is good, too...reasonably full-bodied and well-rounded with a little carbonation to make it livelier.
Drinkability is good for one beer, but I don't think I could do these in succession. A bit sweet and sticky. Not a session beer for me.
Recommended to try for sure. It's a good beer across the board. Like it.
