A bottle served into a pilsner-esque glass at the Gas Station.

A: The Belgian ale is pale, golden and translucent. Crystal clear, the ale has a sizeable, over three fingers, head on first pour that laces nicely.

S: The Belgian yeast stands out, fruity sweet, alongside candied fruits. A decent nose.

T: The body of the ale is nearly identical to the nose, mildly sweet with a fruitiness that runs throughout it. A bready malt base, pale and grainy, adequate against the sweetness. A little cloying near the finish. An intro Belgian.

M: The mouthfeel is ho-hum, not really exciting but not terrible either. Middle of the road.

D: No off flavors, the ale just isn't terribly exciting.

Appearance – The body is light orange in color with some carbonation visible. The head was decent but went down rather quickly.

Smell – The yeast aroma was mixed with a strong orange scent. There were the standard Belgian spices at the nose as well.

Taste – This one is not bad. The yeast comes out more in the taste. There are few more fruits that show up such as ripe melons and grapes. The spicing is light and subdued.

Mouthfeel – There’s some good carbonation in there. This one went down smooth and easy.

Drinkability – This was a nice ale that went down pleasantly.

Comments – There’s nothing real exciting to this one, but it got the job done. It lacked the bite that I personally enjoy in a good BSPA, but went about its business successfully.

Pours a deep golden color with a nice sticky head, the aroma is very yeasty and a little fruity.Taste has a honey taste that hits you right away along with some spicey yeast notes not alot of fruitiness in the taste in my opinion.I like this beer but there are alot better Belgian pales out there.

I bought a sixer of this stuff at a beer store where everything was overpriced, thinking "what's one buck more when I can get a real Belgian?" I remembered trying this for the first time at Monk's Cafe in Philly and being very impressed.

Maybe I was just excited to be at Monk's, or maybe this beer's just better on tap, but man, what a let down. This beer's just average. LOOKS great on its way into the glass; very carbonated, and produces a light, puffy head. Smells like a Belgian Pale ale, but no particularly unique aromatic characteristics. Tastes... like a pale ale, albeit a malty Belgian pale ale. What startles me is the sour aftertaste. It's not a good green apple sour, but more like an apple juice gone bad sour.

I won't rule out buying this on tap againa, but I sure don't plan on buying it in the bottle again anytime soon.

From notes of an unfortunately copious amount of this garbage consumed in France last December…

Sweet, thin watery gunk. Typically Leffe yeasts and sugars are more pronounced than the barley or hops. Bleigh! Macro sugar water with a nice carbonation stream. Clear gold body with a fluffy, light head. Smells slightly medicinal and almost fruity but leaves me wanting more in all categories.

Poured from a 11.2 oz. bottle into a wide mouth chalice style glass.

Pours a beautiful golden color with an orange hue. Clear. An abundant 1" uneven foamy white head covers the brew for a good long time before reducing to a thing layer of bubbles and a ring. Light lacing.

The aroma was almost non-existent, which was perplexing. All this cool looking stuff going on and there was very little to note. If anything there was just a touch of spice or some other fruity adjunct.

Candy sugar, honey, malt, orange peel, and coriander are just a few of the immense flavors that wash over the tongue in a gush with a good deep pull. A bit sweet with a solid medium weight in the mouth. Carbonation is light and the overall texture is nice and creamy. This reminded me a bit of a "blonde brune" if there were such a thing, as there are nice notes of dark fruit in here as well, such as figs or dates. The finish is creamy and malty, with more of that Belgian candy sugar taste on the tongue.

I absolutely loved the amazing flavors and complex combination of ingredients in this brew. If I had a criticism at all, it would probably be that it was just a little bit sweet for me. Is it too sweet? Depends on your tastes, I guess. I would definitely put this on my "anytime" beer list. Recommended.

Appearance: Pours a very nice crystal clear golden beer with large carbonation bubbles that give way to a very patchy large bubbled foam head that lasts for quite sometime, then goes near still with some lace.

Smell: Soft clove-like aroma with a background yeasty / banana character. Fruity bubble-gum-like aromas too.

Taste: Smooth, a bit creamy and light. Malt sweetness is subdued at first with bubble-gum flavours throughout. Faint caramelly malts and honey flavours are detectable amongst a rather bready malt character, overall. Alcohol fusels come through as the beer warms. An odd yeasty/bready character follows and peaks, with a raw-ish feel on the palate. No real detectable hop bitterness, however the beer goes twangy for a brief second then falls back to more of the odd flavour. Finish is a bit dry with strong residual sweet flavours.

Notes: A very commercial Belgain ale. And, sadly, this beer might be a very good beer if it wasn't so damn clean & filtered -- most Belgian beers are bottled-conditioned. My advice is to skip this beer. It's not the worse, but there are plenty of non-commerical Abbey-style Belgian ales out there to drink.

You should also make serve at just below room temp, as the flavours seem to get better.
