Appearance: A light golden transparency with a thick cloudy and resilient head that laces well as you progress. "Clearly" a filtered ale, not bottle conditioned.
Smell: Lovely, delicately spiced banana bread-like aroma. A harmonious balance of the yeast derived esters and phenols.
Taste: A warm sweet biscuit-like malt flavor leads the charge followed by fleeting notes of soft orange and clove.
Mouthfeel: Finishes like a lager--clean and crisp and dry, but with enough substance and alcohol (6.6% ABV) to lend itself as a medium bodied ale.
Overall: A very pleasant and clean beer. Many seem to call it "simple", but this beer has a lot of character for a "blonde". There is a harmony of subtle flavors at play--not easy to pull off. In that respect, it's far from just "simple".
