Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a nonic pint.
A: Huge, foamy head that lasts quite a while. Underneath, a bubbly golden liquid that looks very inviting.
S: Musty, bready yeast and maybe some cloves. I can detect a noticeable phenol in the smell that is off-putting.
T: Spicy, sweet, and bubblegum. Doesn't have any bitterness of note. Not bad.
M: Creamy with a little sharp carbonation. You can feel the bite of alcohol in this one.
D: This is one you should not gulp. That being said, it's easy to drink. Not a brew that stands out from the crowd though. Not bad, but don't go out of your way to get it.

Appearance: Very clear bright gold, with a frothy, long-lasting off-white head and a constant flow of "champagne bubbles."
Smell: A pleasant, well-balanced mixture of mandarin oranges, spices, and just a hint of bready yeast in the background. Very true to style.
Taste: Bready malt is at the forefront, but quickly comes into balance with the light orange and spice flavors, as well as a soft bitterness. Could be more complex, but is a solid pick for those who are new to beer and are looking to learn that not everything tastes light bud light.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Smooth and crisp, yet slightly watery. Could be a little fuller.
Overall: A tad simplistic for experienced drinkers of Belgian styles, but remains flavorful, refreshing, and true to style. Something simple that I would recommend to a "beer newbie." Sessionable and easy to find on the shelves--something I would pick up on my way to a spring or summer group picnic.
