Not bad, having one in a hotel room in Paris right now. America surpassed Europe in making quality beers about 10 years ago so can't wait to get home.

This beer is a good Belgian brew. It's not going to win many awards and is widely available. I enjoy getting to the bottom of one when I'm looking for something refreshing. The head is firm, the beer is blond (as indicated on the label), tastes a bit yeasty.

A: Clear, transparent, golden with constant bubbles
S: Sweet bubblegum, clove, light banana, bready, orange
T: Belgian spice, white pepper, bubblegum, clove, light orange, hint of alcohol, bready
M: Medium-light with medium carbonation
O: I enjoy this but would prefer a Hefe. Probably some better examples of the style out there but I'm not one to seek out belgians.

Had this at a local restaurant. Here goes:

A: Actually quite good. Clear yellow with plenty of bubbles Pours a large head with great lacing as well.

S: Lots - and I mean lots - of clove. Very bready yeast and some citrus, orange, and tangerines. Very bready and fruity.

T: Follows the nose, except with some bubblegum. Predominant flavors are clove, orange, and bready yeast.

F: Nice and bready. Good.

O: Good beer.

Poured into a tulip. Gold with a good head. It smells like homebrewers' T-58 yeast, with wheat and an unidentifiable yeastiness. Taste has light banana, low bitterness. A little caramel malt. Mouthfeel is rather thick and smooth. Not nearly as good as Leffe Brune, or most other Belgian blondes, but certainly drinkable.

Pours brownish color. Light brown. Havy head that lasts for quite some time. Yeasty smell. Taste is yeasty and malty. Slightly chalky taste. A good beer. Don't know if I could have more than 1 at a time.

Pours dark gold with huge lasting head and lacing. Smooth taste with hints of malt, bananas and spice. Alcohol is hidden in this beer. Overall, solid beer but nothing impressive.

330ml bottle bought at Brussels grocery store, BB: 20/02/16
served chilled...close to recommended 5C.

Nice copper colour, crystal clear -- oddly so (!), not much head on the pour.
The head also dissipates quickly.
Smell is unique....yeast esters working overtime here. Old bananas.
Taste is crisp but relatively uninteresting.....more like a mega-brewery offering than a crafted product from an abbey.
Okay to drink, but not a tribute to the region or style, by any means.
On the plus side, you could drink more than a couple of these easily and safely. But I won't be going out of my way to find more. For a widely available and very popular beer here, my expectations were too high.

Serving 330 mL Bottle

A- Pours a Honey Golden Colour topped by a 1 1/2 finger white head that mostly dissipates fairly quickly. A ring of head clings to the side of the glass indefinitely.

S- Light and floral. Lots of Sweet Belgian yeast action going (mostly pear and apple).

T- Nearly identical to the aroma with the exception of a slight spiciness.

M- Light and extremely drinkable. Medium Carbonation.

O- Decent Belgian Pale Ale that offers up everything the style is known for. Fairly standard beer. Nothing overly exciting to be had here.

Not all Belgian beers are amazing. This beer is Exhibit A. A nice Ale, a bit sweet for my taste, but pretty good. I enjoyed on my deck on a hot summer night. Would have another, but would not exclaim its virtues from a mountaintop.

I'm going to discuss something a bit more mundane, price point.

I want to remain neutral so will not name the retailer.
I will just say that they are a "big box" wine/liquor/beer store.

Leffe Blonde is actually pretty reasonable and, surprisingly, less expensive than Heineken.

One quick rant...
Maybe it's the monopolistic nature of much of the the beverage market but I think we beer consumers are currently "being taken for a ride" as far as European beer prices!

The US Dollar is at near historic highs vs. the Euro.
Three years ago, it cost about $1.43 cents to buy one Euro.
Now the currencies are nearly at parity!

Why aren't we seeing a dramatic drop in the price of European beer???

75 cl (25.4 oz) bottle brought home from Europe. Pours a golden amber with a small head. Somewhat yeasty in smell and taste. Pleasant to drink and enjoyable.

A medium golden pour with a nice fizzy white two finger head that dissipated to a one inch head as I drank the beer. I could not discern any real odor. The taste is very pleasant . . . a bit malty and yeasty with a pinch of hops. Although drinkable, there are other beers that are more worthy of the price.

330ml bottle. Appearance: Crystal clear, golden, moderate white head that dissipates. Aroma: Pear esters dominate. Apple present, with an underlying maltiness. Taste: Strong ester presence of pear, with apple, banana, and spice in the background. Underlying malt presence but esters are the main attraction here. Mouthfeel: Light to medium body, with moderate carbonation. Finish: fruit ester forward on the finish, with a slight metallic note. Overall: A showcase of fruity Belgian esters, but not an overall balance beer. After the ester punch, there is a strange metallic note. Rest of the beer is pretty straightforward with nothing significant about the malt profile. Decent blonde

Crystal clear and light gold in color, no noticeable carbonation and a thick off white head filled with creamy bubbles accompanied by a nice thick lacing.
Apples, wheat grass and some mild spices make this ale’s aroma very pleasant.
Sweet overall with the spices coming out mid swallow and then topped off with a slightly hoppy flavor. A bit of citrus zest comes out as it warms up, and what I think is coriander start to become present as well.
You can feel the carbonation, it really move your mouth, it’s light – medium bodied with a semi-dry finish.
This is a very good tasting Belgian Pale Ale, sweet overall with just a hint of hops and malts.

Meh... this is different than any beer I have had, and to be honest, not sure what to think of it. At first taste (on the tip of your tongue) it is refreshing, as it hits the back of your mouth it as a mysterious .... Coriander? taste. I would compare this to "Lift bridge- Farm girl" but, not as balanced. Could be i just dont like the style or that i just had a IPA prior. At anyrate, worth a try wouldn't get a 12 pack but if it were available as a single somewhere i would try it again.

Available in France which is not known for its beer selections. On tap in a 50cl Leffe chalice.

Classic Belgian blond/pale with a very fruity nose and hints of bubble gum and banana. Was so thankful to find it when I did.

Perfectly clear light amber with just barely off white head of medium retention. When I first opened, it fizzed up slowly out of the neck. Not from being shaken, mind you. Before the pour, sweet bread and bubblegum aromas. In the glass, some of the same but a distinct Band-Aid note of chlorophenol, not too unpleasant. Also, a little citrus zest. After I've been enjoying it for a while, mostly sugar or bubblegum on the nose. First sip and finish seem mentholated almost or even metallic. Combination of what little hops there are, chlorophenol, and maybe the booze. Sugar and Band-Aid strongest on the palate in the middle. Overall, similar to what I've encountered in certain imported German hefes. Prickly from the carbonation for the first second or so but mellows and softens to cream-like feel. Way on the light end of medium bodied. Nice tingly, warming sensation from the alcohol on the gums and tongue. Not too dry of a finish.

Honey in color. Funky nose. The flavor profile is malty and quite sweet.

This offering worked nicely for the first two but the sweetness got to be too much and I had to switch to something more bitter. Definitely not sessionable.

Pours a light amber with copious carbonation and more than 2fb of white fine head. Smells of cereal, bubblegum, fruity light phenols, caramel. taste rather sweet malts up front with a mid note metallic twang of bitter and smooth, end note (sweet) but rather pleasant. Light to medium body, strong carbonation and goes well with bbq, not particularly complex but overall a rather pleasant blonde.
Overall - not as complex as other belgian blondes, a bit sweeter than I normally enjoy but in the right context (bbq, hamburgs, pizza) a great, light bodied and tastey accompainiement. Solid price point for the quality - better than most 'macrobrews' and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this to attend a tailgate, bbq or other party in which I was trying to find a decent beer at a reasonable price.
