A-Corked 750ml bottle was a bitch to open. Pours a rich golden color. Hard pour births a large, bubbly, fluffy head. Head retains very well and leaves a lot of lace rings.

S-Smells is noticeable but not very intense. Clove, banana, yeast, spice combo. Nice citrus peel aroma too. Just a standard, Belgian aroma that is altogether pretty nice.

T-The flavor is a notch below the aroma. Coppery/metallic twang hits the palate and drops the score of the taste. The components found in the nose are there on the tongue. Yet, they do not fuse as well as they do as in the aroma.

M-Feel is slick. Carbonation is lively but the slick feel kind of takes away from the nice carbonation. Lightly syrupy.

O/D-At $4 for a 750ml, this is a bargain. It is a decent beginner's Belgian Pale Ale. I am surprised it took me so long to try it. All in all, its not bad, but if I was going to get someone to try their first Belgian, Duvel would take the cake here. I do enjoy the 750ml though.

Bottle poured into chalice.

This Belgian Ale is somewhat of a paradox. This is a abbey style beer, but it is brewed by InBev. I was pleasantly surprised.

The mouthfeel was light and refreshing. It was almost fluffy.

The aroma was that of other Belgian Pale Ales.

The taste was fruity, a little hop, and finally a slight subdued malt.

The carbonation was not over top, neither was it non-existent.

This is a beer that I would have again if offered, yet I don't know if I will have it again soon. Go ahead and give this a try.

On Tap

Appearance - Clear yellow colour with a large size frothy and fizzy white coloured head. There is an average amount of carbonation showing and there is some fair lacing on the sides of the glass. The head lasted for5 minutes before it was gone.

Smell - Banana, cloves, corn syrup

Taste & Mouth - The beer has an above average amount carbonation and most of the flavour consists of bananas, breads/grains, cloves, and a corn syrup sweetness. It ends with a yeasty banana flavour.

Overall - You could do far worse than this beer. It has a nice balanced taste and it goes well with meals. It would work well as a gateway beer to get others into craft I'm sure.
