Another disappointing brew from the Leffe guys. Maybe it's their best, but overall it is again lacking something that would make me happy.

L: dark golden look, with nice lasting top, with fine bubbles.
S: the Leffe-yeast is very mentionable, malty but milder than the regular Leffe blond.
T: difficult to say, malt with a touch of citrus;
M: round, alcohol feels too strong, though it's only 7,5%, overall a bit disharmonic;
O: this seems the best Leffe can, and it's quite okay, but I find it still a bit too poor

33cL bottle (6pack)

A: gold- to slight tanned, very clear, lingering head
S: grain, caramel, fruit (banana) and cloves,
T: bit tannic, husky malty grain, some oak? some hint of vanilla, has got some whisky-like finish. hint of alcohol sweetness
M: very elegant touch, finishes dry, with a hint of sweeness
O: as i put it, this beer has some finesse to the taste. it does NOT have the strong phenols of the blond that i tasted. a good beer.

Poured in Orval glass. Light amber colour, with off-white head that shrinks fast to a small layer with some little islands.

Smell has big banana, cloves, some artificial fruit candy, yeast and some malts. Big and bold, but not really my thing. Would be better if it was slightly more subtle.

Taste: cloves. A lot of them. Some yeast, followed by a nice bitterness. Then some malts, and fruits (dried apricots). Not bad, but not very complex and very in-your-face on the cloves.

Mouth is medium, nice carbonation, just the right amount of tickling on the tongue. Very drinkable.

This is not a bad beer, but it has a very pronounced profile that you'd really have to be into to fully enjoy this beer. I'm not, and I could do with more subtlety and complexity.

I like Leffe , it has a good reputation it scores well in bars as they have easy accessible uncomplicated brews steers the young clear of the terrible mass produced lagers.
Orange brown colour, creamy head, nice carbonation. Great lacing.
Citric aroma, a little bit of banana in there. Also some pine.
Taste is quite bitter. Crisp clean finish.
Pretty good beer, actually. It's balanced with sweet and bitter, it's refreshing and has a pleasant aftertaste as well.

Posh looking .75 litre cork and caged bottle poured into 3 Leffe stemmed tulip/chalices on 20th Dec 13.

Looked fine, an orange hue to the golden almost clear body, with a white covering that hung around: nicely carbonated, you could see the bubbles rising through the beer.

It went a bit downhill after that: the aroma was grainy and slightly fruity but as the beer warmed it became metallic and not so pleasant.

The taste also went iffy as it warmed a little, started off crisp and sharp with a semi-sweet lead it then turned on me; again being metallic, the alcohol also became apparent in the mouth.

Drink it fast and cold or not at all.

This beer has a golden color with an orange hue. The body has a good bit of carbonation to the body that leads to the ivory head. There is a decent lace. It has a great crisp smell with a hoppy finish but mainly clove, yeast and malt dominate. This beer had a nice hop presence but was not as strong as I thought. I like the citrus flavor mixed with spice. It has a medium feel.

33 cl bottle Poured into my lost abbey stemware glass

Very nice colour, deep golden, light amber with a huge three finger head on top, white in colour, thick and creamy. Very good retention after losing its 2/3 of height. Average activity in the glass.
Light aroma of dark fruits and yeast , cinnamon
Taste is quite sweet and fruity, mostly dark fruits, plums, cinnamon ,some raisins too, with a slighty metalic aftertaste.
Medium body and high carbonation. Quite dry on the palate. Alcohol very well hidden. A good all day beer
