A - Poured dark with a tan head that's easy to create. Foam retention is good with light lacing.
S - Overwhelming roasted and chocolate aroma. Smells very sweet.
T - Slightly bitter finish with a lingering aftertaste of roasted malt. Again, Sweet.
M - Medium to full body with a medium carbonation. Smooth.
D - Would purchase again. This beer has first-sip likeability if you're in the mood for sweet. Very easy to drink and a good transition beer to the darker side.

Great. First beer I ever tried from Krebs, but sets a high standard. Looks nice, smells great, tastes better. I think the average reviews for this are too low.

Dark malty goodness that tastes sort of chocolaty and doesn't lose it's flavor as your glass slowly warms. Not too complex or trying to mix too many flavors in there. The stout-like flavors aren't too strong and let it still taste like a beer and not like a chocolate bar or a cup of coffee. Just a simple, smooth, easy to drink beer.

Buy this beer. For sure.

Surprisingly good beer here. Highly underrated on here. Beer is black / dark brown, hazy, thin off white head, small bubbles, some lacing, moderate to low carbonation.

The aroma is sweet, good yeast profile too. I like this.

Beer is medium in body and quite sweet but not in a cloying way, it is almost boozy but the finish is excellent. I would recommend this beer as a sweeter interpretation of the schwartzbier category to anyone interested in dark lagers.

Had on tap at McNellie's in Tulsa. Dark in the pint with a small off white head ring around the top of the glass.

Smells of roasted malt and chocolate.

Great full flavor here, yet very light and easy to drink. Chocolate, coffee beans, roast malt and bread crust.

I was very impressed by this one. Had the big flavor of a robust porter with a light body that was very drinkable. Could've sessioned these all night.

Slight malty aroma. Dark brown brew with a short quickly disappearing head.

Flavor is nice. Fairly sweet. Tiny bit of chocolate, some slight sour tang, some roasted notes. Just a little bit of bitter hops. Lingering aftertaste. Maybe a little bit too sweet for my taste.

Good mouthfeel with just the right amount of mouthfeel. And very drinkable. This one disappeared fast.

A-color is pitch black. head is slightly tan but not very big.

S-first sniff is fantastic! cream, roasted coffee, toffee, dark chocolate, cherries?, nutty. and if you take a step back and just try to appreciate the combination of that all, it's very nice.

T-doesn't quite live up to the aroma, but still delicious. the toffee, chocolate, and cream stand out the most.

M-a little thinner than i expected/hoped for, but good.

very tasty. i could have a couple of these back to back. this one went down quickly

Poured a nice dark brown with a light creamy tan had lingering and leaving some light lacing.

The smell had a nice bit of light smoke and a touch of sweet cereal.

The flavor follows the smell perfectly the light smokeyness coming through up front with a long creamy sweetness in the finish.

The mouthfeel is very creamy with a long slightly dry finish.

Very drinkable and top notch Swarz.

Served from a 12 oz bottle, poured into a stein.

A: Black with an OK head, minimal lacing. Gives the impression of a strong, stark beer.

S: Slightly malty, very apparent chocolate.

T: Malts and chocolate are the most apparent with just enough sweetness to give it a Chocolate Malt Ball quality. Pleasant as an after dinner beer.

M: Good mouthfeel, carbonation is fairly light, but not "flat" and with a low alcohol content it is not obtrusive.

D: Great drinkability, the drink lends itself to being a good "after dinner" beer, although it definitely lends itself to all occasions.

Got this one in a BotM shipment.

Poured into a shaker: a near black brown, 2 fingers dropping to half-a-finger of creamy tan head. Stout-like in appearance, with a wall of lacing.

Smells of roasty-toasty biscuit, sweet caramelized malt, creamy coffee but all with a moderate intensity, not real rich. Nutty & kind of peppery, slight sour milk. Popping popcorn?

Taste of bitter chocolate, coffee-like roast grains. Then there's a good hop bite, enough to end very crisp after those heavier flavors. Dark bread crust. Very full-flavored for a nearly session-strength brew. Mild roast & sugar in aftertaste.

Mouthfeel is a nice combo of prickly bite & creamy foam, medium body. I have a feeling I'm going to buck the overall trend in the ratings -- I was pretty impressed by this low-ish ABV lager, flavorful without weighing too heavilyon the palate. I would've mistake this for a porter if I didn't know better.

(12 oz. bottle into mug) Poured a rich black color with a creamy tan head that left little to no lacing on the glass. Nose was heavy with a toasted chocolate and caramel, with a hint of coffee. Drink was surprisingly smooth, and unlike other schwarzbiers I have tried, the roast was not overpowering, but well proportioned with the other flavors. As the glass warmed a little, this smoky flavor faded, and the chocolate malt took the fore. A very very refreshing drink after my meal. The perfect pick me up on a snowy day!
