My first from this bewery. It obviously has a history, which seems to be their main selling point. In short, it leaves a lot to be desired. The smell did not differ much from a major brewer. Not a whole lot of nuances here. The same could be said for the appearance as it reminded me of straw. What confused me about the taste was that the bottle said it was a wheat ale. Huh? I didn't detect it. I wasn't expecting a hint of hefeweizen but this seemed more lager-like. It was drinkable and would be appropriate for a hot summer's day outside while eating a burger. I don't think I would purchase a six pack but wouldn't turn one away if it was offered at a cookout. Even though this is one of their staple products, I would choose one of the other offerings if you're looking to try something from Krebs.
