A new goody from Choc is always welcome. Poured into my Choc pint glass.

A hazy golden colored brew with a faintly reddish-orange middle. One-finger of white head dissipates quickly into a thin sheet above the brew. There's little to no lace to speak of.

Smells a little metallic with an undercurrent of caramel malts and fleeting notes of lemon and orange. Tastes sweet, malty, spicy (cloves) and citrusy with a biscuity middle and a dash of phenols.

Has a creamy middle, but crisp and dry around the edges, which results in a light-to-medium mouth-feel that remains fairly spry over the duration. Very drinkable and with just enough taste to keep a good beer man interested for a good while.

A: A Beautiful golden haze in my glass, little head but there is a lace around the edge, nicely carbonated.

S: A bit of banana with other fruits mixed in maybe peach or orange, honey

T: Fruity with mild citrus hop, sweet malt to balance..gives way to dry slightly peppery finish

M: Delicious, enjoy the body the malt has here and wonder if there's any wheat in the grain bill

D: I would say high. It's refreshing and tasty and would be a great addition to tons of food. Okie-kamokie brewya!

Poured a cloudy orange/yellow with a nice sticky white head, good lacing and amazing head retention all the way to the bottom.

The smell is very classic belgian blonde, lightly funky and spicy with some pepper notes and a touch of sourdough and grain.

The flavor is all about the yeast, spicy and a bit funky, yet very light and balanced, some mild crystal malt is noticeable along with a touch of spicy noble hops to even it out. Has a very nice pepper charachter to it.

The mouthfeel for me is the high point, great silky creamyness with nice carbonation levels.

A very nice American example of the style.

12 oz. bottle poured into a Chimay Chalice; murky golden color with chunks of yeasty goodness sitting in the bottom of the glass, small head reducing to tiny ring.

Smells instantly of Belgian yeast, lots of spice; clove, pepper and bananas.

Tastes like a freshly baked loaf of bread, clove, rich malts, little bit of alcohol, touch of honey, wheat and bananas in the back.

Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied, mild carbonation, minor dryness, slick.

Overall a decent brew, if you like Belgian styles then it's worth a try. Smooth easy drinking summer beer.

Review based on notes, enjoyed earlier today with some world cup soccer... This is packaged as Summer beer now

Pours a hazed honey color, never really clears, a pinky of of cream colored head. Head fades fast, zero lacing

S: Fruittyness, breadyness,plus peach & apple blossoms

T:: Apple peels, white grape juice, dryness, & white pepper up front. Bits of orange peel, lemon zest, breadyness & green apples are there as this warms. Finishes with a slight grapefruit hop profile, white grapes & dryness

MF: Medium bodied with low carbonation, fair balance as well

Super drinkability, was shocked quite frankly, this will go down easy in hot weather

P:  thin layer of white bubbles on top of a hazy golden and significantly effervescent ale.

S:  Great yeast aroma with a clean fruity musk.  Super vibrant, spices and banana.

T/M:  Spicy yeast, black pepper, clove, banana alcohol,  bubblegum, and honey wheat bread.  Silky mouthfeel that shows its  carbonation nicely. Finishes powdery with lingering  dry grass and bitter green apple peels.

O: As usual the Choc team delivered another fine seasonal. I really enjoyed this and will pick more up for sure. Super clean and vibrant with just a touch of fruity bitterness. The finish is not much desired for its a little rough, but a well done ale.

Pours to a thin, white head and cloudy, dirty orange-gold color. Aroma is primarily Belgian yeast compounds: peppery, spicy and fruity. Flavor is spicy and interesting with notes or coriander and clove. Mouthfeel is smooth and carbonation is moderate. Overall, this is a tasty brew that looks like a very good homebrewed Blonde.

B+

12oz into a wine glass. Pours a hazed orange gold, fluffy white froth didn't linger.

Aroma is subdued but complete with a gritty yeast, light skinned nearly ripe fruits and even subtler spices.

Taste is full flavored, held together with yeast and delicate hopping. Little citrus and clove are interesting. Negligible bitter. Aftertaste fades quickly away leaving a crisp notion on the tongue. Light to medium bodied mouthfeel. Nice brew for a muggy del city day. warms well.
Cheers

This Belgian brew pops the top to a typical delicious belgian smell of sweet and spice and everything nice. Pours into a chalice with a cloudy dark yellow with a wispy head that is quickly gone. On the taste the first evident element is the big malty backbone with sweet carmel like candiness. Not much hops to speak of excepting for a very earthy touch of bitters. This is a very sweet selection that has a classic belgian flavor. I my opinion this selection is practically a dessert beer.

12 oz. bottle tried 15 Aug 2010. Listed as 'Summer Belgian Style Blonde Ale' on the bottle and website. Served in the 0.4 L Steiner Pils snifter.

Small off white head. Well carbonated. Cloudy orange amber in color. Smells of wheat, yeast, sweet citrus, clove and coriander. Spicy and juicy to start. Tastes of yeast, orange, citrus pith. Tangy tart finish and aftertaste with a lingering light bitterness. Medium chewy body. Warming ethanol presence.

Nice to see the offerings from Choc getting better over time.

Thanks to 4balance for this one. Poured from bottle to snifter:

Pours a hazy honey gold with a quick couple fingers of head that fades out to a consistent collar. Wisps of with head remain scattered across the center of the glass... good lacing.

Yeasty, wheat, clove, sour banana, white grapes, pretty unique.

The taste is equally unique. Warming grains, subtle biscuit, some dirty yeast presence.

Overall, this is an interesting take on the style. Glad to have had the chance to try it.

A : pours a super hazy yellow with highlights of brown with a big frothy white head. cool little bottle from a brewery I've never heard of before. head dissipates quickly with almost not lacing.

S : smells of your typical belgian beer. yeasty up front with subtle citrus notes. slightly bready.

T : starts like a pale ale with freshly baked bread malt flavor and honey sweetness. a melding of belgian yeast and subtle hops dominate the middle before finishing wet, sharp and clean. A bit of a belgian yeast finish with a little bit of citrus and peppercorns. The spicy peppercorn flavor at the end is quite nice and cuts the beers ability to linger, adding to drinkability.

M : mouthfeel is solid. A full bodied beer that is easy to drink and ends clean.

overall a pretty enjoyable beer. Smells more like nothing but yeast, but the flavor is nice. Website states this as a 5.5% abv brew. I think I'll have another.

Pours a cloudy golden orange with a big creamy white head. Smells of freshly cut hay and cinnamon. Taste is a hint of applesauce up front, with a dry bread middle, and a earthy, citrus, banana and clove finish. Very little bitterness to style. Mouthfeel is creamy, low carbonation. Light and refreshing, an easy drinking beer. Similar to many of Choc's other beers, I wish they would try a few different styles here and there.

A new summer seasonal from Choc, this ale pours a cloudy gold-orange hue with a thin cap of soapy, white foam.

It's quite aromatic with lots of spiciness (clove and white pepper) and a little fruit (banana and pear). Clean Pils malt and candy-sweet caramel form the malt-driven flavors while hops contribute a subtle burst of green grass; however the Belgian yeast character is really what drives this beer. Finishes somewhat sweet as it lingers on the palate for a few seconds.

A decent ale, but the sweetness makes this something I really wouldn't want in the middle of summer. Dry it out and I think you'd have a really nice Belgian blonde and a quenching summer ale.

Thanks Mom and Dad for picking up this unobtainable brew from OK on your trip to AR.

Cloudy and pale copper, bronze, unpicked barley color. Very light bubbling and head.

Very yeasty banana, fruit, clove, and slight earth aroma along with the slight toasty aromas from the malt.

Taste is powdery in texture. The flavaors have yeasty bubblegume and banana. The malt add sweet biscuits and bread with no noticeable addition from the hops.

This is a session Okey brew. One that I would buy again if it was ever available in the Chi-town area.

Pours a hazy light gold from the bottle. The two-finger white head says hello before quickly settling to a touch of foam. Nice aroma of Belgian yeast, spice, malt and tropical fruit. Those are all present in the taste, with banana and grain leading the way. Medium light mouth that's crisp and dry. A very drinkable summer ale.

Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange amber color with a slight fluffy white head. Grassy, lemony, banana and some other fruit flavors in the nose. Very cool and refreshing after a days work. Belgian yeast style flavors in the taste as well with a lingering banana taste. Wouldn't really call this complex by any means but it certainly is hitting the spot right now. Some what sweet. Medium mouthfeel.
