look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 3.75 | feel: 4 | overall: 3.75

Appearance: Pours a hazy straw color capped by an inch of foam that quickly dissipates, leaving a few dots behind

Smell: Lemon and sea water

Taste: Lemon and sea water flavors up front, with the tartness building through the middle; after the swallow, the salt lifts a notch along with more tartness

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation; very puckery

Overall: I have had a few other Goses but have not had enough experience with the style to comment on whether the extreme sourness of this beer is on style or just the brewer's creativity in action; this tasted like a somewhat salty Berliner Weiss to me

Thanks, BlueOkie, for the opportunity (668 characters)

Into a snifter. Cloudy orange color with a finger of head that is quickly gone.
It smells like a German Riesling wine. The coriander comes through and a little banana.
Interesting taste. Light flavor upfront, bubbly, salty and sour lemon (lots). Very sour. It kinda grows on you or at least on me.
Higher carbonation and lighter body. A little sticky texture.
They created a beer that was almost lost... maybe there was a reason for it not being popular. Absolutely worth finding and trying though. (499 characters)

Pours an effervescent & semi-hazed apricot with a finger of fast falling cream colored head. Not much head retention or lacing

S: Porridge, slight phenolic dirtyness, some hints of iron

T: Salty & lemony notes up front with a light hint of orange peel up front, along with peppery notes as well. Lemony tartness & saltyness as this warms, along with some faint dirty/earthy notes. Finishes salty with lemony tartness, some sour apple, plus a touch of dryness& & just a bit of pineapple

MF: Effervescent, light bodied, nicely balanced

Super drinkability, couldn't stay on it all day, but man this really slakes the thirst. This is a pretty daring take on the style works for me, I'm very impressed by this one! (712 characters)

Poured a cloudy dark yellow with a light creamy tan head.

The smell is minerally and spicy with a light bit of wheat.

Very tart and sour up front with a lightly sweet bit of wheat and spice, there is just a hint of the salt in the finish. Very similiar in flavor to a good Berliner Weiss.

The mouthfeel has that light sour acidity along with a nice clean creamy lingering quality.

Very drinkable, would be very thirst quenching on a hot summer day. A fun strange style. (473 characters)

Poured into a Duvel tulip

A - Pours a hazy, medium orange color with 2 fingers of white head that dissipates quickly. Little lacing is left as a constant stream of bubbles rises to the surface.

S - Funky aromas of tart fruit hit the nose right away with floral notes intermixed. Next is aged cheese and pale malt.

T - Puckering tart apples and pears are apparent right away with a hint of cherries intermingled. This gives way to aged brie before a light malty finish that lingers long after the sip. There is a touch of saltiness in the finish as well.

M - This is a bright, effervescent beer that drinks dry throughout the flavor profile, especially in the finish.

O - This is a pretty unique beer unlike any I have tasted. The beginning is pretty standard for a farmhouse ale but the salty flavor is a bit of a surprise. The maltiness in the finish is more indicative of a pilsner. This is definitely an interesting brew that you should try if you get the chance. (971 characters)

Pours a hazy, muddy, orange color. White head, doesn't stick for long.

Smell is lightly tart and acidic, but there's a rich sort of malt profile that shines through more than anything. Backing citrus.

Tart tasting. Makes my cheeks pucker a bit. I wouldn't call it sour, but just really tart. There's a hints of bread and citrus, but unlike the aroma, the tart qualities mostly overpower. Not getting any saltiness, which is what I enjoyed with the first Gose I had, along with it's mere faint tart notes. Finish is bone dry though, so the salt may be playing a part...

Little bit slick, but lighter in body, low carbonation.

Not my most favorite style, but I can appreciate it for what it is. (699 characters)

Poured from a bottle into a goblet.

Appearance: Pours a cloudy yellow/golden color with a layer of white head that leaves a ring around the edge of the glass.

Smell: Tart with a strong spice presence. Sweet citrus.

Taste: Quite tart, more than I expected. Some citrus notes along with the spices. Lots of coriander. Crisp malt and I think I'm picking up some salt in the background.

Mouthfeel: Medium body with tingly carbonation and a dry finish.

Overall: A bit more tart that I expected. The spice flavor was intense, but good. I would consider having another. (567 characters)
