On-tap at The Brewhouse
The pour is a clear orange pour with a white head. A sweet malt aroma of bread and biscuit. Some mild citrus, floral, and grassy hops. A hint of peach on the finish. The flavor is quite sweet for an American pale. Mostly bread and biscuit malt with some soft floral hop flavors and a bit of orange peel. Light grass notes and very mild bitterness.

Draught at the brewpub, 5.3%abv. Gold color with a medium head. Nice, hoppy aroma, not to far from their IPA. Similar hoppiness in the flavor, without much malt complexity; quite herbal and piney, but more drinkable because it doesn't have as much bitterness and rough herbal hops as the IPA. Medium and smooth. Pretty nice pale ale.

Draft at brewery, 02/18/08.
Clear gold. Active carbonation, foamy skin atop glass. No aroma. Well balanced: some malt up front, bitterness in the middle. A little astringent at end as just a hint of malt sweetness says goodbye.
Nice, but not remarkable. But as long as it's not a typical west coast hop bomb, I'm happy drinking it.

This is not a bad pale ale, but it just didn't quite do it for me. I found the flavor to be a bit too astringent and sharp, a lot of which did not come from the hops. The hops do come through some, and are tasty against the lighter body of this pale ale. Drinkability is good. Mouthfeel gets knocked down a bit for the sharpness. Maybe it was just an off day - I'll give it a try again sometime, and if it fares differently, I'll give it another review.

Pours amber with a somewhat orangey look. Fairly strong hops scent. I found the hops to be the predominate flavor in this one. Quite bitter on the tongue. It made for a pretty bold mouthfeel. This is one of the more drinkable pale ales I've had lately. For some I think the hops will be overkill, but hops lovers should definitely try this one should they find themselves at the Brewhouse.

Pint Glass.
This beer pours a clear deep amber. A strong white head slowly dissipates and leaves lacing lines a plenty down the glass. The scents are mild hops, which are crisp on the nose. A grass and wheat scent never assert themselves, which is curious because the hops are not overpowering. Scents are good but are a bit subdued.
This is a mild pale. The flavors round themselves out as it warms. The hop profile is there but not strong enough to push out the malts. The malts are sweet and buttery. The lingering hops reappear in the end for a nice crisp refreshing finish.
A very easy on the palatte APA. Smooth and well balanced. This is a session APA. I like this APA. It is well refined and unique. It may not be overpowering but it finds itself its own niche and excells for what it is.
