An above average (for my palate) wheat beer. Slightly hazy, pale golden colour with a big and persistent white foamy head. Sweet and slightly sourish malty nose with a strong yeasty note but a faint banana-like fruitiness. Sweet and slightly sour flavour; light to medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Strong yeasty and malty taste with restrained fruit- and wheat-character; witha rather short finish with traces of bitter hops and light clovy notes. (455 characters)

Comes in a tall brown half liter bottle with a blue and white label featuring Munich's Bavaria statue on a Bavarian flag (blue and white checkerboard) background. Purity law applies. Best before 6/30/04, I opened it on 5/6/04.

Pours an average looking clear bubbly gold under a 1.5 finger white head that musters a bit of contour before fading to film, leaving just some spots of lace. The nose is spicey, with a touch of lemon, but a bit on the watery side. The mouth is prickly and medium bodied. There's definite coriander and lemon in the taste, with some yeast and bready malt to accompany. I also note a mild hoppy bite in the finish, which lingers (strengthens?) into the aftertaste. This is an acceptable rendition of the style, but nothing to write home about. (772 characters)
