This is a small restaurant overlooking Rancho Santa Margarita Lake. They have about a dozen taps, most of which are west coast micros (eg: Stone, Alesmith, Bear Republic, Rogue etc). The food is the normal pub grub, burgers salads, sandwiches, etc. It's a very open and airy place and very small. It's more of a small family restaurant where you can bring the family. The name Wings is because of their airplane theme. Entrees have names like "the P-51 Mustang xxxx" where 'xxxx' is a burger, salad or whatever. If you're out in RSM, is a nice place to grab a pint.

If I weren't sent to work in Mission Viejo today, I wouldn't have been to this solid beer establishment. The inside reminded me of those pizza parlors with arcade games in it, but with a lot beer décor on the walls. It has a great view of the lake and has an outdoor patio you can enjoy your beer, both which score big points for me. There were a few patrons when I visited aroud 3:30. There was only one waitress serving us all at the time, but I didn't have to wait terribly long to place my order.
About 15 taps can be found here, with an even distribution of mass-produced beer, craft macros (i.e. Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Drop Top Amber Ale, Redhook ESB), and local craft beers (AleSmith X, Wipeout IPA, Hop Ottin' IPA). Solid tap selecton, but the bottled selection is made up of nothing but macros. They have several breweries' logos on the chilled shaker pints they serve their beer in, and I even saw many Stella Artois chalices, presumably for the Stella Artois tap. I arrived when Happy Hour was going on, where I got a $3.75 (plus tax) pint of Drop Top Amber.
If you're in the area, this makes a solid beer place to hit up, but don't expect it to make the pupils in your eyes turn into cartoon hearts.

Hidden on the north side of Santa Margarita Parkway in RSM, Wings is a small beer bar right on the lake. As the name suggests, the aero theme is alive and well at this establishment.
The beer list changes every other month or so with tired brands discontinued in favor of something new. Breweries represented include Anchor, Stone, Anderson Valley, Left Coast, Widmer, and Kona. Pints are reasonably priced and the bartenders fairly attentive.
Food is standard pub fare and behind the bar are several beer related books including:
Michael Jackson's Beer hunter
The New World Guide to Beer
Beer for Dummies
If you stop by, say 'Hi' to Jeff (The Publican) and let 'em know you saw him on BA. His nickname is 'Small' and he's an active harrier...so if you're into running it's a great conversation starter.
