Pours a somewhat hazy yellow/orange color with decent blooming head, had a banana aroma along with a kinda funky aroma that I couldnt put my finger on.The taste was a little tart with some spicey and wheaty tones.Pretty decent taste to it got alot of traits of a good hefe,a decent beer not up to many German or American counterparts but drinkable for sure.

Very pale gold, little head.
The aroma has sort of a bandaid-y, estery character to it. The flavor is almost more like an American wheat - wheaty graininess, some decoction-like fruitiness, but any banana or clove esters are buried waaay in the background. The fruitiness comes more forward in the finish. Rather drinkable, but not my first choice for a hefeweizen.

Cloudy, golden with a copper tint. Forms a huge, off-white head that holds quite well and leaves some lace. The aroma is of rich, grainy malt with some very light clove and even less banana - and a light "plastic" phenolic. The body is light-medium with a lower than expected level of carbonation for the style. Creamy mouthfeel. The flavor does not deliver the rich maltiness that the aroma suggests, but has a sort of thin acidic note, leading into a touch of the maltiness suggested (with a touch of caramelized sugar?) - but it's combined with a light "Band-aid" note. The acidity comes forward in the finish leaving the mouth dry, but with some fruitiness and, finally, a touch of banana. Fairly astringent, however. A somewhat flawed beer. I tried several bottles - all the same. These are production characteristics and have nothing to do with age.

Picked up a bottle at EuroMarket in Queens for $3.50. My label says Helle Weisse, though it appears to be the same abv and beer. The aroma has a clean wheat grain note, surrounded by creamy spice and a hint of orange peel. The body is fairly light and drinkable like a good hefe, but the flavor is also on the lighter side. It's sweeter and I don't get any banana, but I enjoy the mix of wheat bread and mild fruity esters. The character is more balanced than, say, a Franziskaner, but it's a worthy example of the style.

Brown swing top matches the picture on this page. However, my bottle says "Schwarze Weiss", which I thought meant dark wheat? This beer was not what I'd consider a dark color? I brought this back from Germany with me...but as I read other reviews it appears to be available here in the US.
Poured a tan/brown with a medium head that lasted most of the way through the beer.
An inviting aroma, but none of the classic German wheat flavors of banana or clove. A cleanness of the German Reinheitsgebot...
The wheat malt and some graininess comes through. Low hops, but nicely to style.
Overall quite an enjoyable beer.

Straw orange/yellow look with a frothy white head and nice lace. Light taste of lemon and wheat malt sweetness. Lots of lemon notes. Slight light mouth. The beer seemed a little watery on the tongue and in the taste. It was ok but there are better out there...

Leikeim Premium-Weisse is perfectly presented with massive amounts yellowish white head. The body is a nice orange golden hazy color, and even after a vigorous pour, there is a lot of carbonation visible in the body.
Aromas are a little too light. There's just a hint of bubble gum and banana fragrance.
This tastes a little better than average. The taste of banana is really dominate.
This kind of has a creamy and oily feel to it. It kind of feels like a banana cream pie in a glass.

Pours a hazy orange color with a thick fluffy head that fades quickly leaving spotted lacing.
Smell is of orange, clove, banana, zesty.
Pretty average weiss bier. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. To much zesty spice for a german wheat beer. Also have banana up front, yeast, bready notes, then comes the dry spicy finish. Not a bad beer, but I feel it's not quite on par with other beers in the same style. I would drink it again but won't got out of my way to find it.

13.10.2010 into tulip. The pour gives birth to white head collapsing into lacy cloth atop of pale yellow/orange fluid. Aromas of banana, powdery yeast and wheat perceived as bread. Flavor dept corresponds to the nose. A bit watery with very soft carbonation. Nothing memorable about this beer.

Best before 20.04.06.
A: Hazy bronze-straw; White head, only a little retention and lace.
S: Beady, citrus & caramel. Slight hint of banana.
T: Quite citrusy (lemon and orange), nice spicyness (cloves from the yeast?), slight hint of banana in the aftertaste.
M: Creamy, light to moderate body; moderate carbonation.

Poured from a brown, half liter, flip-top bottle. Huge, creamy, off-white head didn't budge for what felt like hours. Hazy golden beer holds a swarm of large bubbles. Yeasty banana aroma with hints of peanut butter now and then. Soft, refreshing mouthfeel with a faint twang at the end. Tastes like dough and lemon with just a bit of banana. A light bitterness in the finish caps the flavor. There's nothing really wrong with it, but nothing stands out as being great either.

A-Milky Yellow with a large head. No carbonation bubbles rising
S- A bread and wheat malt smell and Banana
T- Light malty flavoring at first then you are hit with a quite strong sour/bitter taste in you mouth
M- Smooth with a light bubbles on the top of your mouth
D- The taste was not at all what I was expecting from a Hefewiezen though I did still enjoy it and would by this again in the future. nothing amazing but if I needed a beer to share at a party I would not feel bad about giving this to other beer drinkers

I picked up a six pack of this beer at what I thought was a good price for a German weiss. That is what it is, a good weiss for the price.
This brew pours a rich head that drops off to a nice lacing. The beer is a cloudy amber color. The smell is a nice blend of wheat and fruit odors. Not overpowering.
The beer has the character of weiss beers. The full bubble gum flavor and wheat after taste is nice. Not too complex. Good full mouth feel.
Yeah there are better weiss beers out there, but they cost twice as much. I like having a six-pack of this beer around for parties. You can give this to Bud drinkers and they think you are doing them big favor. They get off on the wire stopper.

The beer poured hazy pale golden. The head was white a moussy and lasted to lace the glass.
The aroma was spicy and malty. Sort of a caramel and golden raisin aroma. Reminds me of the aroma found in most Belgian tripels. Some clove in the aroma.
The flavor was wheat with a slight spice. Just an every so slight sourness was present, but it did not detract for the flavor. Come clove in the flavor, but it was very muted.
The finish was just barely off dry. The body was medium with a soft and round wheat mouthfeel.
This beer could definitely be more interesting, Just a slight bit boring, but it drinks well.
11.2 ounce swing top bottle. Good through 11-12-03 on back label.

Very good Hefe-, great carbonation. Fresh, clean smell, great head that stays. Little lace, not a big deal. I'm so impressed with the crispness, not a big banana, clove taste, very subtle.A very good mouth feel, thirst quenching. I'm a Weihenstephaner fan, but this one makes me stand up and ask for another one, which I did!

Pale cloudy straw orange. Minimal frothy head that settles quickly. Aroma of banana, lemon, and wet grain (wet cardboard?). Flavor somewhat matches the aromas, but in a thin, watery sort of way. Also picked up a slight phenolic note. Finish is dry and crisp. Mouthfeel is somewhat full with a creamy character to it. Not one I'm apt to try again...

Coming in a swing-top bottle, with the cap painted as a football. BB 08/08/08, consumed three days past the expiry date and served lightly chilled in a weizen glass.
A: pours a dark yellow-golden hue with proper haziness, topped with a souffle-like huge creamy froth that is supported by the hyper carbonation.
S: a lovely fruitiness mixed of green mango, sweet lemon and sweetened green olives surrounds the major aroma of wheat-malts, faint caramel, date jam, white sugar, and sweet breadiness. Very attractive.
T: the lightly sour-sweet fruity + wheat-malty swallow leads fast towards a spicy entry intertwined with mild white-sugary sweetness, bready malts, and a dryish palate likely due to hops. Pretty full in the finish, with a bit more spicy touch lingering.
M&D: full-bodied, much milder on the palate than the hyper-fizzy appearance suggests, and throughout the drink the mouthfeel is smooth and never goes thin like many hefe-weizen would end up tasting. Neither much spicy-fruitiness nor much maltiness dominates the flavour, making this a rather balanced wheat beer to savour.
