12 oz can. Pours black with tall, creamy, beige head and nice lacing. Aroma is of piney hops, toasted malt, dark fruit and coffee. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Taste is of toasted malt, coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruit and herbal hops. Finish is long and dry. Nice brew.

On tap at Stofan Cafe in Reykjavik. Loved the basement bar atmosphere! Watery stout, almost a darker brown ale, but it worked on a chilly afternoon.

It's a very dark brown with a thin tan head. It has minimal retention but still leaves rings of small sticky lacing. The aroma has notes of chocolate and dark roasted malts. The taste is similar with the addition of a little bit of earthy hops. It's got a lighter body with slight carbonation and a drier finish.

Pours a dark brown, alost black. Smells are faint, but are mostly dark malts and toastedness. Not much flavour, clean dark malts, faint toastedness, and a nice bitterness.

12oz bottle. Served in a tumbler glass.
Pours a darker brown body, nearly black, opaque with a one finger offwhite head, short retention time, bits of lacing, medium collar. Smells of roasted barley, a bit of cocoa, mild milk chocolate sweetness, a bit of earth. Not as much of the coffee bitterness that I've seen in a few other Scandinavian stouts. On the sweeter side, less roast than typical. Flavour is a combination of mild milk chocolate, roasted barley, touch of smoke, slightly nutty finish. Mouthfeel is lighter bodied, creamy with a bit lower carbonation than expected for the style. Nutty sweetness, touch of smoke and roast rounds things out. I found it to be a little on the sweeter side than expected, a bit more of coffee or roasty bitterness would have done this one some good. A bit on the simple side, but very drinkable, approachable even.
