Fionn MacCool's is another fake Irish pub with a very pedestrian selection of standard macro beers that can be found anywhere. Just what the world needs more of! Given it's location almost next to 'Cest What and a few blocks from Beer Bistro, two of the best beer bars in Toronto, I can't imagine why anyone would want to waste their time drinking boring beers here. Why is this place even listed? Why am I even bothering to review it? Hopefully it will save a visitor from spending any of his valuable drinking time here.

Not sure why this is on Beerfly, but figure I'd review since it is here. A typical fake Irish pub in Toronto. Tap list is pretty mediocre for Toronto, without any micros other than the typical ones you can get everywhere else. I think last time I was here I just drank Guinness. Sometimes they have a semi-interesting import, but they would have it next door at Bier Markt anyway. The food is typical chain pub food. Nice patio, but if there is space at Bier Markt, you may as well go there to at least get some Belgian beers.

I live pretty much across the street and I never go unless we are trying to get a patio and are lazy.

Huge patio area out front, and the inside is quite spacious as well. First thing in sight when walking in is the long bar with multiple taps, mostly easy to find domestics and imports, but there are usually a couple brews that are not as easy to find in the city. I found the food to be pretty original and very good, they have great hot wings. Not long ago they had a wheat beer special, which included both Hoegaarden Grand Cru, and the Forbidden Fruit, which are very good and very hard to find in Canada. Overall a decent place to grab a pint and some food.

A decent pub down on the Esplanade. I've stopped in a few times, mainly for food, and haven't been disappointed. Quite a comfortable atmosphere, with lots of dark wood and a large bar. It makes it feel like an old pub, regardless of how old it really is. The food is standard pub fare, but is quite tasty. The beer is basically a selection of standard macros and British imports like Guinness, Stella, Harp. Nothing too exciting, but still good quality. Service has always been good and the prices are fairly good, though the price of an imported pint has gone up a bit lately...

This is a cool pub in a cool area, right beside the Bier Market. It is nothing spectacular. I went their after a Jays game (the Bier Market was charging a steep cover charge because of the Jazz Festival I think) and it was a nice little place. I had some wings and a nice glass of Alexander Keiths IPA. If you are in the area, which you should visit if in Toronto, stop in for a good time.
Thx

A nice Irish pub in downtown Toronto on the esplanade, right by the esplanade beer market. Unfortunately the legendary beer market was closed on Easter Sunday when I was in Toronto, so after hitting up C'est What and another fine pub my Dad and I ventured to this place. The atmosphere was typical with wood all over the place. The bar itself was quite large and the quality of the beer was top notch. They had some local favorites as well as the main macros. I had a Guinness and Vegetable crock and it was outstanding...We also had $3 (CAD) happy hour 20oz Molson CADs. Not too shabby. A good place for a cheap beer and a good, cheap meal!
