Poured into a pils glass. 24 oz. can, which is following a can of Labatt Blue. Only 0.6% higher in ABV, some ice beer.

2.5 A: Clear medium yellow color. I swear this is lighter than the blue. Anyway, it certainly gives a bigger head. Four fingers of frothy white head. Retention is average and some specks of lacing are left.

3.0 S: Like the Blue, this has a hint of maltiness to it without a lot of sickly sweet corn. No hops. Not saying this smells good, but it's not terrible.

3.0 T: The taste is not bad either. Light bready maltiness. Mimimal corn. No hops. Not horrible.

3.5 M: Heavier light body. Carbonation level is reasonable. Slightly chewy with a touch of creaminess.

3.5 D: Easily one of the best AALs I've had unless my palate is just off today. I'm rather not have this again, but wouldn't be too pissed if I did.

Labatt Ice brewed by Labatt Brewing Company Ltd. This brew pours out a dark amber color with a nice white head. Has the look of an American style lager. It has the ice brew smell, but it is rich. So far I'm liking this brew. I did not care for the taste of Labatt Blue, so lets get on to the taste. The taste is right in middle of a regular beer and an ICE beer. This brew has a nice balance and it smooth. I like how it is smooth, but it has the ICE feel but not too much of the ICE feel. I would take this brew over the BLUE any day of the week. Over all I'm giving this brew a 3.75 out of 5. I would get Labatt ICE again. It is a good brew for a good price.

After a very expensive car repair that I had to pay for, recently, I wanted some brew that wouldn't further break the bank ... Stopped into my local beer distrib. and spotted this old econo-favorite for a mere $18/case (24 oz. "ghetto cans" as I call them ...)
There's not much depth to be tasted but the respectable 5.6% abv will get the job done when one is on a budget and wants something session-y .
It's no fine German pils/lager but for the money, you can't expect that from this formerly Canadian-brewed swill . Contract-brewed nowadays to I suppose, save money on the shipping over the border (I recall it tasting a bit better when it was still produced up in Canada.)
A few of these big ghetto cans will do ya unless you really wanna crunkify yourself (and I sometimes, do . : )))
No awards for Belgian-like complexity shall be won here but again, it was only $18 for case of the big cans ...
