After a very expensive car repair that I had to pay for, recently, I wanted some brew that wouldn't further break the bank ... Stopped into my local beer distrib. and spotted this old econo-favorite for a mere $18/case (24 oz. "ghetto cans" as I call them ...)
There's not much depth to be tasted but the respectable 5.6% abv will get the job done when one is on a budget and wants something session-y .
It's no fine German pils/lager but for the money, you can't expect that from this formerly Canadian-brewed swill . Contract-brewed nowadays to I suppose, save money on the shipping over the border (I recall it tasting a bit better when it was still produced up in Canada.)
A few of these big ghetto cans will do ya unless you really wanna crunkify yourself (and I sometimes, do . : )))
No awards for Belgian-like complexity shall be won here but again, it was only $18 for case of the big cans ...

poured big ass can into weizen glass
A-Light golden straw. When poured into my 10" weizen glass, 10" of off=white head...then the beer started to magically appear! A slight orange hue.
S- sweet, wet hay, corn, caramel, sugar, beer
T- not really sure how to describe the taste on this beer. Nothing is singled out. It's sweet, strong for an American Adjunct...if you agitate in the mouth, you can taste alcohol...
M- Mouthfeel is thin, but not thin enough for the style...
O-overall, as others have said, this isn't bad for an ice beer. Therefore, it's pretty good for it's style. However that's not saying much. What is the draw of this style? To me, it's a cheap buzz. It was Friday night and I had an extra dollar to spend at the grocery store. A stress reliever? A college pre-game in the bar parking lot beer? IDK, it's really not bad, but seriously, what is the purpose of this beer? It's too strong and the mouthfeel is off for a refreshing summer beer while doing work, and it's not really a session beer. ICE beer? IDK what else to say...

16oz can poured into a pint glass.
Color of the beer is on point for an ice beer. Not too dark of a golden yellow. Good head, fizzy, but stuck around a bit. Lacing was good for an ice beer.
Smells of corn, and 'regular beer'. No off or over boozy smells. Always a plus with an ice beer.
Taste is key with ice beers. This one isn't at all overly boozy. Slight corn taste, but nothing is off. Apparently the original did it right.
Mouthfeel is thin, yet carbonated. Always a plus when this type isn't thick or syruppy.
Overall, this should be the standard, or close to it. An excellent ice beer that is thoroughly enjoyable.

Labatt Ice is by far the best of the ICE beers. Obviously, the consumer needs to realize what this beer is and if you take L. ICE for what it is it's pretty damn good. A tall boy here in Ohio only costs ya $1.19... a good way to get a party started at least.
