Labatt Blue is the best-selling Canadian beer in the world. Introduced in 1951 as Labatt Pilsener, it was named for the colour of its label by fans of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers football team. Blue was the first brand in Canada with a twist-off cap and won the silver medal in the International Lager category at the 1998 Brewing Industry International Awards. Labatt Blue, brewed using specially selected aromatic hops, is a well-balanced, fully matured, full-flavoured beer with a fruity character and a slightly sweet aftertaste.

Pale yellow body; thick white head; lots of very lively carbonation. Grainy, grassy, herbal aroma. Very light grain hint with the taste (mostly aftertaste), mineral-like flavor; metallic; faint bitterness. Initially fizzy mouthfeel; quickly becomes flat; mostly dry finish.

Looks good, smells fair (for an adjunct lager) but really goes down hill with flavor and mouthfeel. Overall, there's no satisfying or lingering flavor of note and the beer feels weak and limp. Was it this bad back in the 70s and 80s when we Ohio beer drinkers looked forward to a Canadian brew? Who knows for sure, but thank goodness there are plenty of quality alternatives to this beer now.

Had this beer a year ago, and still remember it. Yellow color, fizzy and seemed like it would pair well with seafood, crabs maybe. I will definitely revisit

A pleasant tasting Beer all around, not your traditional "Pilsner Hopsy" over the top taste, but still has some of that taste with a slight sweetness with a nice scent. Rate 4/5

Poured from a bottle into a large tulip glass. First reaction to the pour, unimpressive. Thin head that dissipates quickly. Has a bit of an older, musty smell to it? This is a beer that is refreshing on hot days, but other than that, it's just beer. Not really anything to say about this one.

Got this in a can and poured it into a fancy beer glass.
Pours a slightly darker than average straw yellow of its kind of beer. Moderate foam head thickness.
Smells like a normal cheap lager beer of its kind, has a slight fuity smell to it, making it smell better than your average beer of its kind.
Tastes a little fruity too, less watery and somewhat flavorful compared to others of its kind.
Feels too smooth, initial feel is fine but settings quick like it was never there.
Overall, surprised how decent it is. Better than some others of its kind..

L: Great looking can, quite clean and I love the Blue Label and name. The beer itself is a typical straw color, although its a touch darker than your run of the mill lager.

S: Smells like a cheap pilsner, with a bit of fruit.

T: I actually quite enjoy the taste of this pilsner compared to most other "cheaper" pilsners on the market. Nice character and refreshing with a bit of bite on the finish.

F: Feels like a slightly watery and thin style of pilsner. Good mouth feel otherwise; not as thin as a cheap lager that's for sure.

O: Overall, I've always been a fan of Labatt Blue. Maybe because I'm biased... one of my go to value beers.

Most of us drank cheap beer before we moved on to more interesting and flavorful stuff. This is a very drinkable cheap beer. If I am watching a ball game and I need to pick something that I can drink for several hours without getting sozzled, this is my go-to. No, the taste isn't intriguing or deep, but I don't always want to drink beer that is intriguing and deep. Blue is refreshing and has a nice flavor. It's not in the same class as more expensive beers but it doesn't aspire to that class nor should it.

It is a Canadian macro lager but brewed by Anheuser Busch! Pours a clear straw appearance with a head that doesnt stick around! Taste like a canadian version of Budweiser almost has that same rice adjunct flavor very sweet with a slight lemony finish to it no hops whatsoever! Mouthfeel is very light and watery! Great for a hot summer day or a throwback beer at a party but other than that its nothing special! Very bland aroma! Not bad but not good either!

Bought a 30 pack from Beers of the World on 8/1/15. Poured cold into a Hefe glass. Pale gold with a tall, craggy head. Nice lacing. Aroma is faint but of cooked veggies with a slight whiff of hops. Mettalic, touch of sweet and a faint bitterness. Mouthfeel is full. This is an OK macro.

Pours a dark golden color with surprising frothy head. Smells like every other adjunct. At first taste is decent, but after it goes down, the adjunct flavor hits you. Goes down smooth though. Over all one of the better adjunct lagers out. there.

Pale color. Smell and taste is light and somewhat sweet, with a little hops. Nothing particularly distinctive. Very light and clean finish. Not bad for what it is, but not great.

Look - It has a clear body, and you can see mostly through it.

Smell - It has a faint nutty and spicy smell, but nothing overpowering and strong.

Taste - Tastes stronger than it looks and smells. Has a nice faint spiciness and bitterness at the end of the sip. The aftertaste lasts a few seconds, then fades pretty quickly. Does have a slight watery taste which interrupts the beer (though this could be my perspective). Still has some good flavors hidden in there.

Feel - Very thin and watery. Goes down easy, and can drink it rather quickly.

Overall - It's a basic pilsner. It's good to drink on casual nights, but not if you're looking for an impression. I still enjoy it despite its flaws, but it isn't something I'd drink every night.

Picked up a 24 oz can at my nearest gas station the other day. Can't decipher the canning code. Poured right from the fridge into a stein.

L: Pours a pale straw color with about two inches of white head that dissipates rapidly to a weak film and leaves very little lacing on the glass. Crystal-clear, with profuse visible carbonation.

S: A weak bouquet on this one: cracker malts, a bit of stewed corn, some diacety buttery notes, and a touch of pepper/spice. Perhaps a hint of a metallic note in there, as well. As it warms, it takes on a more unpleasant, sour aroma.

T: Bready malts at the outset, with a good deal of sweetness coming through that seems like it has its origin in corn. There's a bit of a grassy thing going on in the middle, with just a bit of cracked pepper in there, too. Some stewed vegetable flavor builds a little toward the end, and there's a faint fruity/tart note at the close that might be hops registering just a bit. Despite the relative diversity of flavor notes I've mention, this one really doesn't bring much flavor at all: it's a bit like drinking cardboard.

F: Per the style, this one is light-bodied, quite effervescent, and a little creamy in the middle. Overall, though, this one is quite watery, even for an AAL

O: In my college days, I'd often grab a six-pack of this if I was short on cash. It drinks quite easy, doesn't really offer any offensive flavors; the problem is mostly that it doesn't have much flavor at all, aside from the corny sweetness. If I have a choice between AALs, there are probably ten that I would take over this one.

When I was younger and we went up to Plattsburg and Montreal, we drank this like it was magical. It's actually just like Canada's Budweiser. Watery, thin, low flavor - in retrospect, Bud was actually better. Pass.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a Mason jar, golden color with a small fast fading white head leaving some nice lace as I sipped it down. Aroma was a simple Adjunct Lager with a touch of sweetness, flavor followed with a sweetness that put a step above just OK. Ice cold while doing whatever would work with this beer, it has history and that's alright. Not a bad brew overall.

It is what it is. A good beer hockey league brew. Serves it's purpose as a thirst quencher in place of Gatorade. Nice on a hot day too or while bbqing. Nothing spectacular by any means.

Basically what I think of when i think of pilsner. Growing up in Detroit it is basically a domestic and my go to beer of choice. That being said it is not distinctly flavorful or original but it is fun and easy to drink.

One of my Stanley Cup playoff beers. This one stands out (to me at least) against other AALs due to it's heavier grain bill. It actually smells like and tastes like I am drinking something with at least some depth. The edges are tainted with a phenolic sting that is a little off putting, but otherwise, you could do a lot worse.

Not necessarily bad, but it's a pretty one note beer. I honestly would rather drink Budweiser than this. At least with Budweiser there is a little complexity as you can taste the rice in it. I'm not much on hoppy beers, but I'm actually pretty disappointed in how weak it is for a so called pilsner. My first pilsner was Bofferding and that is supposedly considered a "beer for the masses" beer here on BA and it's quite a bit hoppier than Labatt.

I'm not sure how people review beers in this place. Something's not right.

Comparing to American adjuncts it's decent stuff.
Nice maltiness, balanced -- even has a genuine pilsner taste to it.

I'll happily drink this over any of the AAL's.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass.
Aroma- Has a faint corn smell, not much of a beer aroma.
Appearance- A god awful faint yellow with a very small white head.
Taste- uhhmm, horrible is a good word for this beer. barely resembles a beer flavor.
Palate- When the palate category is the highest rated on a beer that should say enough. I can choke it down and it stays down.
Overall- I haven't had Labatt Blue in 25 years and i remember it being more shall we say drinkable. I don't know if my taste buds changed or if they tinkered with the recipe but this is terrible.

I want to like this but it's just another adjunct beer heavily marketed around here. I guess moderate carbonation made the mouthfeel ok and it is not completely offensive when cold. Corn aroma and taste become more pronounced as it warms. Perhaps it gets a gold star for nostalgia sake.

Hey, listen. It's not on the top of the list of awesome craft beers but in a pinch ($1.15 for a 24oz) it works and isn't bad. Plus, when your friends come over for football they will relish drinking an import instead of Miller or Bud

3/2 Bottle - Clear pour, not very thick or heavy. Minimal smell, not many flavours while tasting. Minimal carbonation, easy going down. Overall average offering.
