Can't believe no BA from Manitoba had this listed or reviewed.
Bottle: Part of a trade but have chugged this many times in pubs and parties in Dauphin and Brandon.
The Quintessential Manitoba "off-sales" beer...the beer of country cruising and fishing....more of these bottles and cans dot the Man. landscape than any other beer.
Deep yellow, fizzy, light grainy-husk smells..sweet, grainy taste, stale hops, a tad harsh with a fast finish.
The hop bite most brewers hope for is repaced by an unaged harshness to this cheap-assed drink....ot no idea why this brand survived in Man. and white seal tanked.

This is one of those beers I was introduced to in my teen years in Manitoba. Someone’s older brother would always get us a 12 pack at the “vendor” (any Manitoban knows what the “vendor” is lol ).
Imo, it has, when cold, a fresh, nice real-beer taste. As mentioned earlier, it is a Man’s beer. Great for quenching one’s thirst after an 11:00 pm “beer-league” hockey game in Flin Flon or The Pas.
Good stuff. Wish I could find it in Ontario.

Man this is good beer. Not for wieners, wussies, or anyone except for real men with big muscles who like big taste. After a hard day at work there is nothing like finding a room temperature Club behind the seat of your truck, popping the top and and letting her rip! God almighty, what a good beer.

355ml can. The beer of our forefathers (OK, our actual fathers), still available in select venues across the country. Can't believe no BA from Alberta has so far deigned to contribute a review for this.
This beer pours a clear, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, silky white head, which leaves some surprisingly random specked, looped, and undulating lace around the glass as it quickly sinks away.
It smells of warm, musty sweet rice and corn mash malt, with a bit of burnt plastic for good measure. The taste is standard cheap, moderately sweet grainy malt, and some musty, dusty, dry, oh, I dunno, hops? Nah, couldn't be, could it? A very low-key chemical twinge lingers longer than one would normally prefer. Wait, what?
The bubbles are a bit frizzy and I guess, playful, but that only goes so far - the body renders quite light on the 'how close to medium weight can this reviewer justify this one' meter, and is class-friendly smooth. It finishes still moderately sweet and grainy, with a now somehow subtle boozy, skanky offset, that reminds me of too many past and ever more so egregious recent dive bar olfactory experiences.
Not the worst of its lot, but not really offering anything either, unlike its compatriot, the TNT monster. After a couple, though, I have to admit, this isn't all bad. Just the majority of it, when you're keeping score.
