Poured part of a 355-ml can into a small glass, took the rest from the can directly.

Appearance - pale straw yellow colour with disappearing head and almost no surface bubbles. Big carbonation bubbles pumping away in there.

Smell - corn and tinny can smell, not much else. Very poor aroma.

Taste - malty-sweet corn adjunct taste with thin flavour of hops at the tail. Not much of a real pilsner, but fairly inoffensive.

Mouthfeel - fairly poppy up front with heavy carbonation but after the malty sweetness peaks it really seems watery.

Drinkability - this ain't the worst product on the market, but it sure ain't the best. Goes down pretty easy and is affordable. On the other hand, it's a low version of a good style and this can't be forgotten as quantity increases.

Hey now, with the current economic catastrophe I thought I'd try out some low cost brews and see what's what. The PC line seems to be a buck a beer, so lets see what they have to offer....

Pours out a washed out pale, pale straw, although an impressive tall foamy white head on this pils, and good retention.

Aroma is grainy and a bit industrial, with a touch of adjunct sweetness in the end. It's not awful, no serious off-notes, but on that note it's not very enticing either.

Well then, in the flavour dep't here's a bit of advice: if you're gonna give this stuff a go make sure it's straight out of the can, and ice cold. Flavour is industrial dry grains, a chemical off-note on the finish, cooked veg, bubbles....tapers off very watery.

Mouthfeel is fairly weak carbonation, on the watery side, very much so lives up to the character of the flavour.

Well then, I suppose you get what you pay for, and at times less than what you paid for. Haven't tried any of the other PC stuff yet, but I know to avoid this stuff now at least. For a buck a beer pilsener Brewhouse would still be the way to go instead.
