Picked this up at the House of 1,000 for a dollar.
A - Doesn't look very dark for a Marzen. A clear yellow, maybe a touch darker than your typical BMC. With little head or lacing.
S - Smell like you added more malt to the skunky pilsner lager know as Labatt Blue. Mild if any biscuit or caramel malts.
T - Not terribly bad but I couldn't get over the corn like lager yeasty body that is Labatt. Like I said it's just like the blue (underwhelming) with more malt giving it a mild caramel taste. Even less biscuit malt taste.
M - Light and skunky, man I can't get used to under hopped skunky lagers.
Overall man am I going to be disappointed since I bought the other two. Not worth seeking out if you love the style but if you need a step up from Blue pick this up... maybe.

11.5 ounce bottle, a friend gave this to me recently. Served in a mug, the beer pours a clear copper color with an inch off-white head that stays around a while. There's also a good amount of lacing. Not much to the weak aroma at all, just some bready malt and toffee. Luckily the taste is stronger. The brew tastes like bready malt, caramel, toffee and a bit of fruit (mostly apple). Mouthfeel/body is light/medium, it's a bit creamy and slick with moderate carbonation. I thought it was an OK brew, I wouldn't turn one down. On the other hand, I don't think I'd pay for one either.

A - deep golden, creamy white head holds decent retention
S - malty, spicy, metallic, yeast, caramel
T - toasted grain, caramel, spicy hop, grass, slightly metallic
M - creamy and smooth, finishes very dry with a lingering grassy bitterness
O - decent for the style, a little too dry and metallic; probably wouldn't buy it again.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 11.5oz. bottle into a pint glass.
Appearance: It has a dark golden to light amber color with a small white head. This heads fades quickly leaving only a thin ring of foam around the edge of the glass. Lacing is non-existent.
Smell: There is only a faint wisp of malt with some spicy and grassy hops.
Taste/Palate: The flavor has a light to medium body with very light roasted malt character that bring just a slight touch caramel like sweetness over a plain cereal like base. This is cut with some light grassy hop flavor and bitterness. It finishes light.
Notes: Overall there is nothing too far off but it came up a bit light for me and I wouldn’t recommend this one.

Poured into a shaker: Gold, transparent body under a finger of head that falls to a solid coating. A few bubbles of nucleation.
Smell is...oh boy. Not looking good - smells like circus peanuts or marshmallow fluff or some other sort of fakey, most likely corn-derived sweetness masquerading as malt. Corn Pops, if they tried to make a soda out of it.
Flavor falls right in line, with a weird bubble-gum medicine kind of taste, with the actual fusel-medicinal quality, just a weird artificial sweetness. A little bit of spice, like nutmeg or something, tries to break through, but it's just squelched by the big, weird faux-sweetness. Liquid Rice Krispies treat, not in a good way.
Mouthfeel is actually not bad - medium-bodied, with some heft, & some crispness. Not dead, anyway. Decent.
Overall, not good. I was pleasantly surprised by Labatt's "Perfect Pils", so I had slightly higher expectations for this, but those were for not. Comes across as completely fake, overly sweet, just a misstroke.

solid golden with a thin white head.
Aroma: malts, some corn like sweetness, some fragrant hops
mouthfeel: dull
Taste: tastes like an Adjunct lager with slightly stronger flavor.
Notes: Not bad, exactly but the corn is so offputting for me.

Labatt Marzen Limited Edition from the Labatt Brewers Collection poured a clear dark copper body producing a white foamy 1-finger head that left “hit and miss” foamy lacing. Fine fizzy bubbles of carbonation rushed to the top of my glass mug. The Marzen has a moderate aroma and taste of hops and caramel.
Not much more to say about Labatt Marzen other than it is an average Marzen…I was hoping for a little more flavor.
