Reviewed from notes taken yesterday, 10-2-13.
I got a finger and a half head. Body is an unassuming brown color. There is a good amount of bubbles going to the top. Head keeps a frothy ring while lacing holds on... then falls back into the body.
The aroma of sweet dark cherries is the first impression I get. Dark fruit follows, along with mild caramel and bits of sugar and yeast.
I tasted wheat and a bit of wood and yeast up front. A hint of dark fruit, sugar and dark cherries follows. It finishes on an earthy note.
This beer was medium bodied. I coats most of the tongue and finishes dry.
