appearance: Pillowy, thick head of dense bubbles atop a dark, nearly black-red ruby brew. Proper lacing all around.
smell: Heady notes of alcohol, sweet malt, smoke, and spice.
taste: Holy crap, the heat of alcohol blends with a fruity, floral, peppery tongue that'll set you up and knock you back. 10.5% ABV I would expect nothing less. THIS is what a winter warmer should be about and rarely is - warming, smooth, and clean.
mouthfeel: scouring on the initial taste, then mellowing to a smoothness akin to a fine brandy. Can you tell I'm pleased?
drinkability: This is something I'd almost recommend a brandy glass for. Lovely.
