I've had this on-tap many times over the years at my local pub, the Cock & Bull, but I finally got around to reviewing it now.
Piraat's appearance is quite pale with a nice white head that vanishes after a few minutes. No matter, it's still a good beer. It smells of malt, spice and alcohol, which isn't surprising considering its 10.5 percent ABV.
The taste is pure Belgian. Clean. Strong. Complex. If only I were more experienced, I could begin to describe this beer! When it comes to Belgian ales, I feel limited in my ability to accurately write what it's like to drink them. Just take my word for it: If you find Piraat, try it. Just enjoy it in moderation, it's quite the heavy-hitter.
Serving type: on-tap
