When I first bought this one I didn't even know it was a triple. I tried it originally at the belgian beer fest at the cyclorama in October. These guys also make Piraat and the formidable Gulden Drak.
Anyway, the one drawback of this beer was the pour and subsequent chunks in the brew. I don't mind yeast and sediment but hell, if this was orange juice, it would be extra-extra pulp.
It smelled great, malty, citrus tangy, and the taste was quite the same. Bug sweet juicy malt masking the alcohol, a citrusy tartness and bordering on saison without the funkiness. The mouthfeel was fullbodied and not overly carbonated. This worked wonderfully here. This is a great afterdinner beer, or between courses beer. It is big, rich, lush, and tart enough to erase previously ingested food, beer, or wine from your memory.
