Aroma: Hard to figure out what I was smelling but anyhow it smellt roasty Appearance: Red Brown color, liquid is hazy with a white/tan minimal head. Taste: light bitternes and a little salty/ bitterness finish. Finish duration is short Palate: Medium body, sticky and creamy texture, the carbonation is average. Overall: Not a very good beer. Note: This beer is NOT retired. It is still brewed.
Look: the beer pours a amber-brown color with a very small head.
Smell: Malts, caramel, candy sugar and red fruits
Taste: Sweet candy sugar, malts, with a light spicy hop finish. Not too much here.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body, high carbonation
Overall: A bit boring beer, but not bad

Croy is a litle castle near where I live in the dutch part of brabant. For this castle this beer is being produced. Text on the botle and ads made me curious how this beer would taste and where its made cause I was sure that it couldn't be at the castle. Found out that it was produced by brewery van Steenbergen for "brewery" Gradus Nickelen.
Pouring it in made me doubt if there was any botle fermentation cause the carbon dioxide wasn't as I 'm used to get if I have a beer with it.
Pouring in gave some yellow foam that was gone quiet fast. Colour was dark brown without any red. Nose was malty but also very (acet)aldhyde like. Somehow it reminded me also a litle like a rochefortyeast however with far more aldehydes the Rochfort.
Taste was rather empty for a beer with 7.5% but had some maltcaracter and a litle bitter aftertaste. Beer looks good in the "Duvel" botle with nice label, but I'll leave it there in the future however it is drinkable.
