Beer poured from a bottle.

Beer poured a murky brown colour. Very light aroma of chocolate malt and slightly figgy. Tasted sweet belgian yeasts with a little malt. Not bad, but not much to it. Very drinkable, especially for an 8% abv.

Would I buy this beer again? Probably not, but maybe...

A 330ml bottle with a BB of March 2013. Part of a box collection from this brewery.

Poured into a Delirium chalice. A deep coppery-brown with decent carbonation. Forms a large head of creamy light-brown foam with great retention; this slowly reduces to a surface layer. Aroma of sweet, fruity yeast with notes of bananas, brown sugar, dried fruit, a hint of marzipan and a whiff of booze.

Tastes of sweet caramel malt with a fruity yeast character. Notes of brown sugar, caramel, bananas, dried fruit, marzipan and dry yeast. A hot, spicy alcoholic finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with nice body. Quite astringent - dries the palate. Aftertaste of sweet fruity yeast.

Not bad. Has an easy-going, well-rounded character that goes down nicely. Lacks depth; perhaps a little sweet with an excessively boozy finish, but no major complaints. Nothing special, but worth trying.

Poured from 33 cl bottle into a Corendonk snifter.
A: Pours dark reddish-brown with 1/2 inch light tan head. Excellent retention and a nice coat of lacing left on the glass with each tip.
S: Lightly sweet and very fruity with some bready malt.
T: Flavorful with sweet and bitter in about equal measure. Nicely fruity with dark fruit (raisins, figs), plums, caramel, dark bread, molasses, and light spices.
M: Medium-full body. Very smooth. Soft, medium carbonation.
O: Excellent but short of world class.

Big light tan head settles into a nice lacing above a clearish amber red colored beer that seems to have pretty good carbonation.

Roasted malt and light dark spices with a hint of sourness aroma.

A roasted malt taste without the caramel aspects of most US roasted malt beers. The taste also brings along some light spicy aspects that are quite an enhancement.

A dry aftertaste that seems to have a light puckering effect with much taste hanging around on this medium to fuller medium bodied beer.

A pretty decent taste, good within itself with roasted malt taste that differ from there american counterparts, worth a try, for sure.

The beer leaves a quite small amount of foam with low carbonation. The colour is a very dark amber, almost black.

It smells hopy and quite alcoholic.

The mouthfeel doesn't seduce me at all. It's alomst like wine. Not very much to taste.

Overall, I don't recomend very much this beer. This brewery a lot more to offer in the rest of their beers.

Appearance - Pours cloudy brown with a slightly orange tint. The head is light sandstone in color, near 2 fingers thick and shows good retention.

Smell - Caramelized sugar, hints of raisin, toffee and bread rounds out the aroma.

Taste - Follows the nose. Moderate caramel and toffee notes complimented by lesser dark fruit character. Moderately bready. Fairly straight forward, finishing in much the same way it starts.

Mouthfeel - Medium to full body with soft, bubbly carbonation. Goes down smooth and easy.

Overall - Nice, well-rounded Belgian dark. Sweet, but not overtly so, allowing for a nice, drinkable and approachable brew. I could definitely stand to drink another one.

A: opulent cream colored cap. Hues range from hazy brown to reddish orange.

S: wafts of candied fruit and spice. Fruits are definitely on the dark side. Kinda timid and relaxed in the nose.

T: flavors go hand in hand with the nose...timid. Fruits pop up with flavors of fig and raisins, some spiced pear as well. Unique sweet malts at the end of each sip. Flavors are fair and serviceable

M: fine fizzy bubbles. Relatively smooth. Medium bodied

O: I find this beer enjoyable and dismissible at the same time. Or shall I say "neither neither here nor there."

No real head retention, hazy red-brown body.

Crisp nose, malty with a trace of steel and orange peel.

Light malt body, a refreshing brown. Kinda dry. Some date/fig undertone. Well-balanced.

Bright bubbles cling to your tongue.

Solid brown ale, but doesn't really stand out.

Listed on label as 8% ABV from a 11.2 fl.oz. bottle. Pours golden color with a small head. Aroma is sweet-sour indicative of a Belgian yeast, with after taste of fruit and toffee notes. Lots of carbonation, a spicy taste complemented by a sweet bitter finish.
