750 ml bottle into chalice, bottled on 11/19/2013. Pours fairly crystal clear bright orange color with a 1 finger dense off white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big pear, apple, plum, golden raisin, apricot, white grape, light banana, clove, pepper, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop notes; with great strength. Taste of big pear, apple, golden raisin, plum, apricot, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness. Moderate earthy yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of pear, apple, golden raisin, plum, apricot, white grape, light banana, pepper, clove, candi sugar, bread, herbal, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Fantastic complexity and robustness of fruity/spicy yeast, earthy hops, and pale malt sweetness; with a great crisp malt/yeast balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly slick/prickly moutfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an awesome pale Quadrupel style. All around great complexity and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, pale malt, and earthy hop flavors; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the big ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Poured from a corked 750 ml bottle into a Duvel tulip glass.
Appearance: Pours a deep and hazy amber orange with a lot of rising bubbles. Big three finger off white head that slowly fades into a thin creamy layer. Leaves a decent amount of lacing.
Smell: A yeasty, fruity, and spicy malt forward aroma with big hints of dark fruits. Belgian yeast with some upfront hints of clove, pepper, and cinnamon spicing. Sweet scent of Belgian candied sugar and brown sugar. Toasted malt with sweet hints of caramel, toffee, biscuit, toasted bread, and straw. Big fruit esters with hints of bananas, pear, orange, and apples along with a big presence of dark fruit including hints of grapes, raisin, fig, prune, cherry, and plum. Also some hints of leather and licorice spicing. Subtle earthy hop hints. A very good complex aroma.
Taste: Like the nose, a yeasty, spicy, and very fruity malt driven taste with a big presence of dark fruits. Upfront Belgian yeast with some notes of clove, peppers, funk, and cinnamon spice. Sweet taste of candied sugar and brown sugar. Toasted malt with bready and sweet notes of caramel, biscuit, toasted bread, and toffee. Huge taste of dried fruits with good notes of banana, apples, pear, and orange. Dark fruit notes of raisin, fig, grapes, prune, cherry, and plum. Good notes of leather and slight tobacco. Subtle earthy and grassy hop notes. A very good Belgian taste.
Mouthfeel: Full bodied with a fairly high level of carbonation. Creamy, chewy, spicy, and fairly juicy with a drying finish. Alcohol presence is felt but its not overly hot.
Overall: A really great Belgian Quad. Good mix of fruit esters, spices, and toasty malt. Up there with the best.
