This true Belgian quad pours a hazy, clouded amber with a huge, zealous head of gold-tinged suds. It dissipates fast, leaving an erratic, chunky lace.

Nose is, like a true Belgian, full of spices and dark fruit. I get some clove action alongside dried berries and yeasty bread. Nice.

Taste comes across like a freight train! It's strong and assertive on the palate, with a wallop of fruit, spice, and bread right up front. The finish leaves a warming, boozy kick. Truly a big, heavy, and complex ale that rivals the original Gulden Draak. Classic and beautiful!

Amber color with a huge thick orange head with great retention and leaving lots of laces.
Unexpectedly light aroma for a Quad with notes of caramel, mild grape and banana.
Flavor with citrusy notes, candi sugar, light spices, Portuguese young wine, mild plum, green apples, raisins and honey. It has a short delay in drying your mouth.
Medium to full body with appropriate carbonation. It is hard to believe it has an alcohol content of 10.5% abv.
I don’t know why I was expecting an even more powerful version of Gulden Draak (I guess the label), but I got a bit less complex and intense beer that is rather smooth, which in a second thought, it is a quality on its own, it is extremely drinkable at 10.5% abv. Anyway, it is a definitely a good beer and kept getting better as it approached room temperature.

Similar to the white bottle Gulden Draak. Amber with a nice chunky head. Very nice bouquet. Smells like brown sugar, caramel, toffee, some chocolate. Low to medium carbonation. Fruity in front. Bitter in the middle. Strong finish. Very complex and flavorful. A very detailed brew.
