Bright yellow. Creamy foam. Lack of aroma, perhaps a slight touch of hops. Bitter palate and finish. Unusual dose of bitterness for this kind of beer. Better than an average light pilsner. Best at room temperature in draught form. This is what Pils should be. Strongly recommended for those looking for a southern german brew. Crisp and refreshing. Also good bottled.

I was stationed in Germany back during the "Cold War" and went through plenty of these lagers. Stuttgarters aren't as crisp and as a Bavarian Helles, nor as hoppy as many the northern Germany Pilsners. The Stuttgarters I remember were frothy, bosomy, and quite tasty. It’s very good; although not as refined as some. The best of them is the holiday Christmas Brew. This special brew has Santa Claus on the label and as I remember, slightly more alcohol content. If you get a chance to drink a few Stuttgarters you will probably enjoy it for what it is - a mass produced and successful German lager. Zuffa!

First beer review since I moved to beir himmel.

Poured from a .5L to a hotel glass, Sorry but I had to make due, the liquid is a pail yellow with a touch of orange. Mild carbonation and a 2 finger white head that is tight and lasts.

The smell is mildly sharp of hops and bready.

The taste is much the same, milder hops that the tipical pinls I know and a hearty freash backed wheat bread.

The mouthfeel is good, nice body and good to medium carbonation.

The drinkability is good as this is a tasty brew.

Prosit, und Zum Wohl. MK

0.3 litre vase shaped glass in the 'Lammstube' Bad Krozingen on 19th Sep 2013.

Looked good in it's correct fluted glass, bright, clear and clean, just like a golden Pilsner should look in fact.

No great aroma, like most Pilsners: some grainy hope notes maybe. Gets my standard score of three for a non-smelling lager/pilsner.

The taste was sharp and crisp with the hops pushing the malt content into the background. Refreshing, but without really having any true flavour to get into, it is OK and I suppose typical of the many beers brewed around the world in this style.

This pils pours with a massive amount of head that takes a while to dwindle down, shrinking into a ring that lasts all the way through. The body is standard gold in color and is quite clear.

Aromas are lemony hops with an herbal husky/hay like fragrance.

The taste is again herbal and lemony.

This pils is one of the finer that I've ever tried. Very much a standard for a German pils.

Pours a nice dark straw color. The head is fluffy and bright white. There is plenty of visible carbonation. The aroma of the beer is magnificent. Big spicy hops with floral notes. Very aromatic for a pilsner. The taste has a refreshing hop bight to it. Nothing overpowering, but enough of a kick to make this beer interesting. The mouthfeel is a little lighter than medium bodied, but not by much. Overall, this is a very enjoyable beer, and refreshing too. I'm not a big fan of pilsners, but this beer is an exception. If you find yourself in the Stuttgart area, this beer is a must try. It is truely fit for a king.

This is a drinkable beer. It's got a certain amount of promise:
looks good; smells good when you pour it (in that uncomplex pils way); the first tastes are promising - mild citrusy hops, but then there's nothing much more - there's no peak, and there's no interesting finish.

Had this at the Mercedes Benz Museum cafe. A nice bright golden color with a large two finger foamy head which retained quite well. A small amount of lacing remained.

Smelled of hops and wheat. Maybe a bit of citrus as well.

Tasted of clean citrus and wheat.

Good fresh clean mouthfeel. Crisp and bubbly with a slightly thin body.

This was a fine and refreshing pils, brewed locally. I'd certainly have it again.

this is a "mass beer" of Pilsen type in the Stuttgart area where you can hardly escape this beer. sometimes bitterness is a bit harsh and livelyness low. Once brewed for the kings of Wurttemberg, now for everybody and that's how it tastes, not bad but nothing special either.

This was the daily "go to" beer when I was stationed near Stuttgart. I would hazard a guess that it was the number one seller in the area.
I'd love to have a steady, fresh supply of it again.
It is very enjoyable at any temperature, in fact I liked it better as it got closer to room temperature.
I doubt that bottles of this brew found here and there stateside will taste nearly as good as getting it fresh, so just try a single bottle purchase if you want to give this stuff a try.
There isn't anything really remarkable, memorable or pretentious about this beer, it's just a nice, clean, refreshing choice to have where it's available.

A - poured into a pint glass. Attractive light-copper tone, bubbly but not overly heady.

S - fresh hops and pale malts, neither very strong

T - clean, pleasant, straightforward; exactly what you'd expect from the smell

M - good amount of fizz, medium body for a lager (light on an absolute scale, but not piss-beer light)

D - solid mass-market brew. like most German beers it's not about the creativity, just about making something that's reliably refreshing. never been to Stuttgart, but if it's like the other regional mass-markets in Central Europe, it would be far better on a fresh tap...still not enough to entice me away from my preferred styles, but would rank higher numerically in these reviews...

This Beer is what i would describe as the perfect everyday Beer.
It has a nice light golden color with steady thick foam. Its is not to sparkly and tastes light, but not in a bad way, wich makes it a very refreshing beer and easy to drink. I suggest fresh tap not bottled !
