When I first moved to Minneapolis I stopped by Brit's, now it is one of my favorite places to have an English ale. Keep in mind that this place is NOT a place to sample a variety of different beers. This is the bar you go to when you want to drink English ales in an environment that simulates what it would be like to be in an English pub. I've never been to a real English pub, but I envision one being a slightly dirtier, smaller, and homy version of Brit's. I don't think they have lawn bowling on the roofs of pubs in England either. There is a nice selection of English beers on tap at Brit's. These include Old Speckled Hen, Tetleys, Boddingtons, Fullers London Pride, Fullers ESB, and Newcastle. They have some other reasonable beers on tap such as Guinness, but I didn't go to an English styled pub to drink Irish Beer (the Local is down the street if you really want a good pint of Guinness). I always pick one of the English beers (except for Newcastle) and am quite happy. I've never had time, but I'd love to sit here for an afternoon and have a nice session of beer drinking. From what I've had, the food is pretty good. I've really only tried the pub fries and the fish n chips. The fish n chips are probably some of the best in the Twin Cities and definitely worth trying if you go to Brit's.

Overall, this place is a very solid choice if you like English beers or if you want an excuse to talk with a phony British accent.
