Triumph- New Hope

Amber Ale

Appearance- light ruby red with a thin head. No lacing.
Smell- light caramel malt with a touch of fruit.
Taste- A balance of caramel malt and a light apple/ peach taste. Not bad.
Mouthfeel- light and just a slight tangy.

Overall- a decent Amber Ale, a nice beer on a hot afternoon! (321 characters)

On the hand tap on a Saturday night.

Appeared - lightly hazy, oddly, with a nice fluffy head from the handpump.
Smelled - a nice floral hop nose and background of sweetness.
Tasted - quite nice and I am sure the hand pump added to this. It was just as hoppy as the IPA. A nice touch (but doesn't say much for the IPA)
Mouthfeel - hand pump really made this happen.
Drinkability - is up there. This is the best session eer thy had on tap that night. I would have more, easily. (483 characters)

This was my fifth sampling of the day at Triumph. It was a nice clear amber with a reasonable white head. It had a nice aroma of malt and hops with a light fruitieness in the background. Here the hops was a little more prominent, but the malt and cherry flavors were still prominent. It was a light to medium weight with a dry finish. A nice Ale with plenty of character, but not too much hop or too little. (407 characters)

Served as part of a sampler tray at their brewpub in New Hope, Pa. I really enjoyed this beer. It was very bright and clear. The color could be described as a perfect amber. Smallish head, but laced the glass nicely. The aroma is very pleasant with a slight caramel maltiness, and a surprising dose of soft citrus hops. The taste is pleasingly mellow and loaded with flavor. Semi-sweet malts and a hint of fruit. Light to medium bodied. It has that Chinook hop aroma, that gives off some sweet piney/grapefruit notes. This is my kind of beer. Overall, a very simple and tasty ale. A high quaffer. (596 characters)

Served as a crystal clear medium reddissh colored beer with moderate slightly off-white head.
Smell is fruity sweet, with some caramel notes and a hint of hops.
Taste follows the smell with a nice summer fruitiness and a moderate hop profile in the background.
Leaves a pleasant refreshing taste in the mouth.
Very drinkable. Would be nice to session. (355 characters)

Served on tap at the Triumph brewpub in New Hope. Had in a tasting with all other beers they had on tap that day. The amber ale is surprisingly quite hoppy. Almost to the extent where I might've guessed it to be an ipa or a red ipa. The color is a nice sort of dark auburn. Aroma is quite hoppy, but nice and quite subtle. A more-floral hop. Again, quite subtle, though. Flavor is also somewhat hoppy though restrained. Mouth is a good, full-bodied feel with crisp carbonation and a clean finish. Its quite mellow but still flavorful. very nice. (545 characters)

This Amber Ale was on tap at the Triumph in New Hope around 8/6/2008. I served it in a Brooklyn Brewery Imperial pint glass.

This Triumph beer poured a dark amber (who would have guessed?), but this amber had a small tint of copper mixed in with it. The head of foam was an off white color and about 3/4 of an inch in height. This head of foam had good retention that left behind a small off white colored film and streaks of lace around the glass. Nice appearance! The aroma was light, but it wasn't lacking anything. The aroma was light with grapefruit, a touch of yeast, some lightly toasted malts, and a splash of lemon zest. The taste was lightly malty with toasted malts, a hint of grapefruit, a touch of yeast, and then the taste finishes up on the bitter side with a small taste of dried bitter floral hops. It's a light bodied beer with a malty and yeasty aftertaste. There was no other flavor in the aftertaste. Not a bad beer at all. It was nothing short of being a good brewpub session beer. I wouldn't mind another one of these. (1,042 characters)

A - Amber, of course. Golden bottom with a thin white head.

S - Dry hops and a tartness to the nose. Fresh and floral.

T - Floral and grainy, this beer is a standard amber with its hop character. Light and lightly spiced with a touch of dryness and fresh hop sweetness. Faintly bitter, with an overall light taste.

M - A clean mouthfeel for this beer, with a slightly drying end to this light bodied brew.

O - A standard amber ale, but pretty light and nothing that stands out for me here. (493 characters)
