Stop #402 on my world brewery tour.

Hard to find as it's in the basement of a huge mill on the corner. If not for a small lighted sign out back, I might have given up on it. Wonderful outside patio on the scenic river. Would be great in the summer (and not on a cold fall rainy night as was my visit).

The entrance is like a dungeon. Really cool. Got the house English IPA ($2.50) and Baltic porter ($3.50). What a deal. Also had a great guest tap list. The bartenders knew their stuff in terms of beer so it was fun talking beer and brewing with them.

10 BBL operation with ambient controlled temperature for fermentation which seemed a bit unusual to me but it works for them. Was told they used to do open fermentation but recently gave that up.

Unisex bathroom has a shower in it which I got a kick out of. People also bring their own munchies and food.

Among the better and more unique places in all of my beer travels.

Been here a couple of times. They have odd rareities on tap that no one else should have and so it was worth going to, but once I tried their Hefe' and it tasted like Dawn dish soap, not a fan of what they make but the other stuff there was good. Very small place kind of a well-kept secret in Cedarburg

Stopped in here with ratatat on 6 Jul 2011.

Entrance is from the back by the river, over a little bridge that crosses a diverted portion of the water. Remnants of the paddlewheel machinery can be seen.

This was the third time we've been here. Normally we are inside at the bar but started outside on a very nice summer day. On the patio are 6 or 8 tables. All but one table was full. Service was prompt, adults had beers and kids had SCBC root beer. Food is not available but most of the nearby restaurants have take out or will deliver there. About 15 taps, half were SCBC, the others were Euro imports and micros from the region.

After we had our beers, A & S took the kids to the nearby park while ratatat and I went inside for another round. We shared a growler of Live Oak Hefe with the bar staff and a couple of customers, they all seemed to enjoy it. Will was our bartender, he was happy to talk about beer when he wasn't serving.

I stopped here in summer of 2010 and it was like a step back in time... the old building has its charm. It is sort of difficult to find, as the entrance is the rear behind the old feedmill or whatever building it is. Very nice location whether drinking out by the rolling waters of the creek or inside seemingly back in the 19th century. I tried their all their current beers and was impressed they had an imperial maibock, a style I never had before. They also had a handful of imports in bottle and on tap that I was told rotates. Wish the place was open more. Definitely a treat and hope to go back again.

I love going to Silver Creek whenever I'm in Cedarburg. If you don't know where it is, it's somewhat hard to find, but it's worth the search. Kind of small, quaint, and a lot of fun. Their beers are top quality and selection is great. I've had all of their brews and their hefeweizen is amazing. I've been to a number of brewpubs, and this one ranks near the top of the list. The bartenders are quite knowledgable and openly share their thoughts on the beers served. They also carry a great selection of liquor and spirits distilled in Wisconsin. All around, Silver Creek offers a great atmosphere and when the weather is good, the patio area is a great place to sample the various brews.

Had the pleasure of spending the evening here last night. Walking down the path to the front door I was already excited. The blacktop path leads you into a tree covered canopy bordering a flowing creek. This leads you to their outdoor seating area. More on this later. As you walk into the actual pub you cross a beautiful wooden bridge covered by the farmhouse field stone architechture. The huge castle like wooden door opens to a typical pub. Modestly sized bar with stools and a handful of tables. Flat screens in the corners a dart board in back. Brewing equipment can be seen which every brew pub seems to put on display.

The inside is an after thought in my book. In Wisconsin we appreciate outdoor drinking more than anything else that comes with warm days. The beer garden is a picturesque setting with the tables nestled next to the afformentioned creek. Trees almost completely cover the garden giving a camping/forest vibe. On a warm almost breezeless evening the sound and smell of freah flowing water while drinking beer is heaven.

I grabbed a seat with my buddy at a table that also sat the owner/head brewer Steve. Talk about an interesting evening. Downing some very enjoyable beers while asking Steve every beer related question that popped into my head.

The servers were friendly and accomadating. I belive I tried about five different offerings with not a clunker in the bunch.

Overall this will be a place I frequent often during the summer. A short 30 minute drive from my house is so worth it.

A special thanks goes to BeerFMAndy for inviting me out here and introducing me to the fine folks at Silver Creek.
