Poured cold into a standard pint glass, and allowed to warm up to around 50º.
A=Rich dark brown, with light cream colored head of 1/2" for 90 seconds or so.
S=Excellent nose...coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, with hints of cola.
T=Better than other oatmeal stouts--sweet but a tad bitter, mocha with hints of bourbon.
M=Light with little carbonation.
O=The slight excess of bitterness was just enough to keep me from giving this a 5.0 but one I would buy again.

Pours black with little to no head or carbonation. Aroma is subtle but seems to be roasted malt. Taste is roasted malt, and some chocolate. This resembles more of a black ale or perhaps a porter than a stout. There is a bittering aftertaste and mild to moderate body.

12-oz bottle into Guinness pint glass
A - pitch black body under a quickly-receding finger of deep tan
S - roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, light sweetness
T - notes of coffee and chocolate, smoke and roasted malts, quite dry
M - medium body, medium-high carbonation; prickly and dry--not smooth as I would expect from an oatmeal stout
O - an enjoyable brew, but unimpressive as an oatmeal stout

Appearance: Pours a deep, dark, nearly all black color. Zero head. SRM of 23-24. (3.25)
Aroma: Huge aromas of rich chocolate fudge. Traces of cream. Very simple and strong. (3.75)
Flavor: Flavor follows the nose with more creamy fudge. Some milk and cream, but mostly rich chocolate rudge. Finishes dry. Hints of bitterness, but mild. Finishes dry overall as expected. (3.50)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Extremely flat without any carbonation. Flatter than fudge under a dough-roller. (2.00)
Compared to Stockyard: Similar color. More rich fudge, chocolate flavor. . Less airy and cream. Less complex. I prefer the Stockyard.
Overall: Not the best oatmeal stout. The fudge is nice, but one dimensional. The body is absolutely terrible, which hurts the rating. Otherwise not terrible, but as others have mentioned. Not even close to the best oatmeal stout out there. (Final Rating: 3.25)

T - Characteristically dark. Slightly bitter coffee, grain, a little fruity sweetness.
F - Medium body. Smoothness from the oatmeal.
O - Pretty solid. Among the best beers brewed by this brewer.

Poured from 12oz bottle into glass. There is a smudged stamping on the bottle neck but not clearly legible.
Deep brown colored body. Half a finger of thick, creamy light tan head. Leaves behind just a few spots of lacing.
Aroma is roasted malts, with just a hint of chocolate.
Taste is roasted malts, with just a hint of chocolate. Chalky and has a sour end.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Okay carbonation.
Weak excuse for an oatmeal stout.

Uneventful, but solid stout.
Looks below average (no foam, odd brown fringe), but Smells are the stuff of stouts (well-roasted malts, chocolate.) Taste follows the same, not exceptional just good. Dry enough. In the mouth, this has very little of the silkiness of oatmeal; somehow I missed that.
OA: I give points for the novelty for having found Gray's for the first time, despite going to Wisconsin twice a year. Good story on a five generation Gray family that makes soda and beer.

L: pours dark brown under a cream to light tan cap with poor retention
S: has a moderate aroma of oats and coffee with some chocolate in the background
T: starts moderately sweet with creamy chocolate, coffee, oatmeal and traces of fruit. It finishes drier than it starts
F: medium body and medium high carbonation
O: a lighter oatmeal stout that needs a little more oomph

Chocolatey brown-black with a very active carbonation leaving tons of head.
Hints of metallic oat and milk chocolate, some dry cocoa, roast malt, and milk.
Wow. This tastes like blood. Oatmeal and blood.
Feel is irrelevant at this point, but creamy and highly carbonated.
Overall, one of the worst tasting stouts ever. As I sip it more the blood is less intense and I get more roasted malts but there's still a sour metallic element to it that makes me want to pour it down the drain. This beer is over.

I tried a bottle of this at my neighbors house it's from a variety pack that he brought back from Wisconsin. It poured a nearly opaque black with no head and no lace. The scent had roast. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink for a stout. There was coffee and touch for sweetness. The Mouthfeel was lighter in body with smooth carbonation. Overall it's decent.

Poured a black hue of sorts into my clear 12 oz Kahlúa cup. Smells of espresso, sticky rice and wet soil are all evident. Taste is very subtle of espresso and oatmeal. Feel is quite light about the same as a hot cup of joe (drink it cold though) Over all was a free beer from a rep along with an Irish one and a porter..... of all of them this is the most noteworthy and likely to be revisited at some point. Cheers!
