On tap at Draught House in Austin:

A - orange with good foam stability

S - big citrus hop aroma, some dankness as well

T - very hop forward, firm bitterness, resionous and lots of candied fruit hop flavors. Clearly no expense spared in crafting this one.

M/D - dry and drinkable. Creamy mouthfeel. Very nice representation of DIPA style.

Sampled on cask at the Draught House in early May 2010.

The beer pours an orange color with an off-white head. The aroma is citrus and pine hops. The flavor is heavier on the pine notes but there is some orange citrus notes as well. Medium bitterness. Medium mouthfeel and low carbonation. A great beer and trying it on cask was a great bonus.

Wow, what a gem - drank one while hand bottling live oak hefe.

Burnt orange, amber in color with crackling white foam.Aroma of minty, fruit - grapefruit, persimmon hop aroma - so intensely fresh almost like Pliny the Elder's little brother - seriously great, even had miniature flakes of residual hops floating around the bottom probably from the dry hopping. Balanced with a sweet malt and a mouthfeel that was not dry, quite slick in fact. Amazing! I wish I lived around Austin so I could try more house beers from the Draught House.

Snagged a growler of Bombay IPA from the Draught House on Friday, after a long week and teaching a 4-6pm Friday geology lab.

Pours a slightly hazy, burnt copper hue with a fiery orange tint at its edges--perhaps a bit on the reddish-amber side for an IPA, but by no means unattractive. Not much head forms, but the center patch and surrounding ring of large custard bubbles retain quite well. Aroma is absolutely bursting with resinous, hoppy goodness. Smells like a young batch of dry-hopped homebrew, but the overpowering Simcoe detracts from the fruitier Centennial notes, keeping it from a perfect "5.0".

The flavor mirrors the aroma well, with a nice bitterness from the Simcoe and Magnum. Gooey pine resin and floral hop cones coat to the back of the palate, as a caramel malt note tries in vane to balance the hops. Mouthfeel is well-carbonated, a bit viscous, bitter, and with a touch of dryness on the finish. Although this beer is good, it needs to decide if it wants to be a bitter hop-bomb or an more aromatic dry-hopped IPA, because it doesn't quite achieve both. Still, it's a solid brew of which I'm glad I purchased a growler.

Wow, I actually really loved this beer. Very nicely done.
Rich dark orangish honey colored pour with just a light short lived head. Smell is big big big and sweet citrusy grapefruit like hops. No soapy, cleaning product hop aroma like lots of IPAs seem to have. Taste is extremely balanced, not overly hopped, incredibly smooth and drinkable with a similar hop flavor to the smell and a nice mild sweetness to round it out. Same fruity quality to it I tend to get from their other beers, but in this one it really seems to add to the beer and fits perfectly. Huge hops aroma, yet a smooth milder hop flavor and bitterness makes this easily one of my favorite IPAs ever. A must try.
