in terms of atmosphere: i felt like i was in one of those "bar" bars where a drunken fight was gonna bust out at any moment. the people partying in the parking lot was not my style and made me feel like i was at a football game or something. at some point in time a patron was whistling and the bartender yelled at him across the bar to stop whistling... it was really awkward. and to top it off as i was leaving a cop was parked down the street and tried to fade me as soon as i got in my car. he blocked me from leaving but drove off as soon as he saw i wasnt freaking out.he then procedded to creep by the front of the bar (im sure ruining a few buzzes) and drove around only to park on another side street where he could still see the bar. lame.
beer prices were alright
food and service were nothing special
selection was great
honestly the only redeeming factor was the homebrews. they are the only part of the bar which makes it worth checking out in my opinion.
re reviewed on 8/14/09: had many more better experiences at the bar since the first time. i have learned of a time that is more appropriate for me to be at the bar rather than friday or saturday night. the majority of the times i have gone during the day have been incredible. when the bartenders arent in a rush they are very straight forward and care alot about their patrons. the homebrews have rotated so much and ive enjoyed almost all of them, most recently the sour gose wheat. awesome beers, awesome specials, great place in general. i stand by my statement that on certain nights this place is way tooo packed and a bit too rowdy for my taste.im goin there now.
