Swung by the Draught House after a busy Friday; met up with fellow UT grad students and BA screach for a local trade.
Excellent atmosphere to this joint--very rustic, German bier garden feel with dim lighting, big oak tables and chairs, and lots of beer paraphernalia. Outside were lots of people occupying tables, tailgaiting, standing, and generally enjoying the weather and location. The service could use a kick in the pants, though, as there were only TWO bartenders to service the massive crowd...took a good 20 minutes of standing in line to get my first beer!
Selection was impressive, with at least 40+ taps of local and regional brews (plus Stone, Deschutes, Oskar Blues, and more). Check out the list on their website if you don't believe me. PLUS they had 4 of their own "homebrews" on-tap, and the two I sampled were excellent. Although I had a pepperoni calzone (which hit grease-spot), I decided not to rate the food, as it's little more than pub fare. Either way, the Draught House is a cheap place to have more than a few excellent beers. Highly recommended.
